Mayfield Four, anyone?

I have a buddy of mine who's really into them, and I got a CD today, only listened to the first two tracks. So far, it's not blowing me away, but I was wondering if anyone else has some opinions on this band.

I've heard of the Fairfield Four, the old gospel act, which there were actually 5 members.
