Good OPed article... sadly I have to agree with it.


.........Their solitary interest is perpetuating their own miserable careers and reveling in the childish vanity of their office. They’d rather see the nation bullied and plundered by autocrats and sadists than jeopardize their precious tenure in Congress and their lofty aspirations for higher-office. After all, standing on principle might torpedo their chances for a lucrative job as lobbyist with the defense industry when retirement rolls around...........

Just goes to show that the political system is broken and direct representation is a thing of the past. All that seems to matter now is what the warmongers want.

When thousands of people in Florida were told that their votes didn't count in the 2000 election that Bush stole that was one of the first signals of the coming erosion of democracy.

And even though now the majority of American feel as though they were tricked into going into Iraq and do not support the war, the chimp still professes to believe he has a mandate to continue his illicit war as if it has accomplished anything other than creating more terrorism worldwide.
