Does have the specs on this dvd? I noticed on amazon that it is the same length as the first dvd release (100 min). Is this bad information from amazon? How much extra is added to the movie?
Thanks for any info in advance

na the movie is longer than that. Hense the UNCUT version. but Amazon is very inconsistant about their features or runtimes. I wouldnt rely on them for anything. refer to DVDANSWERS.com for specs on upcoming releases

The uncut version is one seven seconds longer, so I'll pass.

This doesn't appear to be the full specs, but its the best I could do. It is apparently a 2-disc set.
The disc will include a newly re-mastered alternate cut, plus DTS 6.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 EX tracks. The first disc will include two audio commentaries, one with director James Wan, screenwriter/actor Leigh Whannell and star Cary Elwes, and the other with the producers. Also up for grabs will be a behind the scenes featurette, a Full Disclosure: Investigating Jigsaw featurette, a "Saw" original short film, a Jigsaw’s Workshop (build a puppet DVD-ROM), some animated storyboard sequences, an on-set preview of Saw 2, and trailers.

Yeh its a bit longer, but theres more then that. Wan's apparantly chnaged the colour tint's in the film to get the original look that he wanted. You could say hes pulling a "Lucas" but i think its more of a MAtrix box set and doing slight touches for a better feel and what not...i didnt buy the original dvd knowing this would eventually coem out so yeh..will be supporting the good ol' melbournians for this!

The first time I went to go purchase Saw on DVD when it first came out I remember picking it up looking at the case and having a realization to wait for a S.E
i waited and now i am happy :)

I think there is two reason's I'm going to buy it ...
1) It's two disks
2) It'll probably have a free pass to the second film.
I already own the first but I'll just give it to my friend.

Just got the DVD in the mail.
Very, very impressed with the presentaion of the packaging.
Haven't really seen anything like this before. Not the case itself (its one of those slim clear plastic suckers), but the cover.
Don't want to give anything away for all those schmoes getting it in the near future... but I will say that the blood kicks ass.
Plus a free ticket to Saw 2 (thanks Best Buy), made this a very worth while purchase.

Walmart had this early again, but I didn't pick it. The packaging is definately very cool.
Any idea on how much longer the uncut version is?

A whole 3 minutes! (James Wan, Leigh Wannell, and Cary Elwes make sure to point this out in their hilarious commentary track) Only a few shots extended, nothing really too special in terms of new movie material.
The extras were much better than the first disc. A more comprehensive and much more interesting behind the scenes/ making of documentary. Pretty cool story of the guys getting their film shopped around. Only listened to the director/ writer/ actor commentary so far but that was very entertaining (I would cut off my foot to have Men in Tights get released and have Elwes do a commentary track on that). Very impressed with the short that got the film sold.
Though, if it didn't come with the free pass for the sequel I probably would have waited till the price dropped.

i just read a review which said there's only 8 extra seconds added on. that's crap.
i thought the guy who said "7 seconds" above was kidding. guess not
