I need it, i'm addicted. like cocaine. only i don't snort it. i view it. and i enjoy it, and it fucks with my mind, but not in a permenant and detrimental sense. and no, i'm not under the influence. i'm tired, it's cold in the room where i'm typing this, and i'm tired slash bored.

Parents and Teachers Association? Or more likely, Paul Thomas Anderson?

God forbid he take care of his pregnant girlfriend.
He's helping direct Altman's latest or something.

I feel your pain, bretheren.
But it's always reassuring when you think about-- at least he's not rushing his films.

According to IMDB.com (grain of salt, people) he is adaptating and directing Upon Sinclair's novel called Oil!. His project is called There Will Be Blood. Rumour is that Daniel Day Lewis is set to star.
It's due out sometime in '06, apparently.

Well, obviously you're not familiar with the PTA-fan formula for determining when his next movie will come out --
Sydney - 1996
Boogie Nights - 1997 (One year later)
Magnolia - 1999 (Two years later)
Punch-Drunk Love - 2002 (Three years later)
So obviously, his next movie shouldn't be due until 2006 (Four years after his last.)
Then I guess his follow-up won't happen until 2011. :D
He's helping direct Altman's latest or something.
They signed him on as a back-up director for PRARIE HOME COMPANION at the request of Robert Altman, who considered that he might die during production because of his advanced age.

Am I the only one bothered by that whole Altman thing?

The insurance company funding the picture forced Altman to have a backup director, so P.T. hopped aboard (I believe his wife Maya Rudolph is one the movie as well).

I find it hillarious.
Robert Altman hiring the guy who pretty much "copied" 2 of his films as his back up.
It was even that obvious to him!

That's right -- I forgot why Altman ended up having to pick someone.
The full version sounds less bleek - even as I was writing it I was thinking it sounded too sad that Altman was so in touch with death.
I'm not sure him and Maya have tied the knot yet. I do know that I'm fascinated with her though. It wasn't until I fell in love with her on SNL that I started reading up on her, and seeing how amazing her life is (in a Hollywood sort of way)

i find that incredibly strange...PTA and maya rudolph...
am i the only one that doesn't find maya rudolph funny? if so, i'll be quiet, but i'm just wondering if there's anyone else out there who thinks so...
anyway, about PTA...wasn't he supposed to be working on a crime thriller next or something? i know he's backup for the altman film, but i'd like to see him get working on his own stuff again...boogie nights and magnolia are two of my favorites
