Joel Silver and Shane Black rule. They've made some of the best action movies of the last 20 years or so.

And this movie looks very funny and very entertaining. Can't wait to see it.

Brilliant movie. The absolute best of the year; Shane Black is a genius.
Highly reccomended 10/10!

EDIT: I guess I was a little off with the 10, I just loved it so much when I saw it. I guess a 9 or 8.5 is more worthy. I take back that it's the best movie of the year, because I think it's tied with Weather Man so far.
Definately the funniest and coolest.

Why arent more people besides dman talking about this movie. Honeslty its one of the best time Ive had at the theater all year. Admittedly its very self-aware so not everyone may get into that but I thought it was halirious how it kept poking fun itself. Frankly I dont like Joel Silver nor the Lethal Weapon movies yet I surprisnly loved this movie. The script was fast and well-written but more improtantly the two leads absolutely sold the movie especially Ropbert Downey Jr. He may be a whacko in r eal life but give him a meaty role and he can run with it. Come on you guys if its near support the movie now.

8.5/10

People aren't talking about it because it has yet to be released widely. It's still only in limited release. I believe it goes wide on Nov. 11 and I will definately see it then. Like I said, Shane Black and Joel Silver rule and the movie looks like great fun.

I thought I was gonna hate the self-referential starts and stops (slightly annoying is Downey actually stopping the film to tell us how cheesy the narration is, etc.) but once it picked up speed, I had a hell of a time. The funniest scene, in my mind, was the Russian roulette bluff. It was impossible to hear the rest of the dialogue 'cause of all the roaring laughter. Good fun, good acting (where has Michelle Monaghan come from all of the sudden? First Winter Solstice, then North Country, now this. She's gonna be something in a few years) make for a decent time at the movies, withstanding Joel Silver as a producer.

I don't usually like Harry Knowles or his reviews, but I have to agree with his latest mini-article. Actually, it's more of a plea for audiences to go and make this film a bigger hit than it is. It's not getting much of a release due to the low per screen average, which sucks for a lot of people who won't be able to see this small gem.

Excellent movie, brilliant script, Kilmer and Downey Jr haven't been this great for years, a film which deserves to be a winner, hugely entertaining and very funny.

I really liked this movie. It was simply a tonne of fun. I enjoyed that it didn't assume the audience was dumb. It is getting rare for an action comedy to actually have swearing now so it was nice to have an old-school approach to the dialogue. Val Kilmer is the coolest dude ever.
I also loved the little throw-away jokes (she's done some acting etc). The bit before the opening credits was hilarious, easily the funniest instance of implied child-abuse ever (you probably need to see the movie for that one to make sense ;)).
