Good for Jarhead, I wasn't sure how it would do because it might not appeal to many people, but I guess all those TV Spots with the kickass music pulled off! I think it will take top spot by the end of the weekend.

Wow. Jarhead is the surprise for me. Wasn't it tracking just above $20 million? Chicken Little seems to have slightly underperformed, even though it should get a nice family friendly Saturday boost. Saw II pretty much dropped as expected. Should be a weekend of $13-15 million.

Jarhead really kicked some ass. When the 9:30 and 10:10 showings were sold out far ahead of time at the theater I saw it in last night, I figured Friday's estimate would be big.

Unless my math is off, which is possible, Prime only dropped 20% from Friday to Friday. That is pretty impressive.

Great news for Jarhead, I should be goign to see it tonight.

With a Sat increase, Saw 2 should make 16-17 million.

And as Madsen pointed out, good hold for Prime. Sure it looks like a one joke rom-com, but that one joke is pretty damn funny.

Also glad to see Shopgirl in the top ten.

The marketing for Jarhead was superb -- attaching "Jesus Walks" to the trailer really added a lot of interest, even though the final product is sorta meh.

Too bad the Wallace and Gromit movie is already out of the top ten. Thank you, Chicken Shit...

Saw II had the requisite 50 percent drop.

Actually, Wallace & Gromit ranked #14 this week, so even without Chicken Little it probably would've fallen out anyway.

Tremendous hold by Prime. That's the most interesting part about the box office.

Good numbers all around. Disney should be happy with CL, I personally didn't think there was enough hype to get this to 40 million. Kickass opening for Jarhead, I still haven't seen it but I hope to sometime this week. Decent holdovers for all of last week's movies, (Saw 2 <3) especially Prime. Also good to see Shopgirl in the top ten, I hope it sticks around for a while.
