I've always been a horror movie fan. From the first time I saw Aliens, I've been hooked on horror. Over the past few years I've been contimplating several ideas back and forth in my mind. To make it short and sweet, the title of my "dream" horror movie is called Smileyfacedkiller. Funny enough I got the name from a Yahoo messenger Id of a friend.

Story, Idea

Peter McCarthy is a lonely and unusual kid. Standing at 6'0 and a skinny 165 pounds , he could easily blend into the crowd but what makes Peter stand out is not his looks but his personality. While all the other kids are out on fridays with their friends, Peter stays at home doing his physics lessons and dissecting animals. And don't think that the local kids don't take heed to his unusual ways. At school, Peter is constantly rediculed and bullied. Teased for his nerdy personality, he grows more and more secluded; however, he tries to keep his friendly attitude towards others, occasionally finding the courage to say hi to a passerby. As the days go by, Peter sees more and more that the ones that bully him and the people that are the most ruthless to others are the ones that usually succeed. Already filled with self hate, Peter finds his conscience everyday building more and more anger towards himself.

Take the start of the whole ordeal. One day while eating lunch, Peter stands up to go use the restroom that is adjacent to the lunch room. Seeing that he left his tray behind, a group of bulliers rush to his table and take a seat. Seated, they act as if they're waiting to talk to Peter, but really what they end up doing is slipping some acid into his food. As Peter heads back to his table, he notices that the kids that have bullied him for so long are sitting at his table and not only that, they are grinning. Confused, he makes his way back to the table. While sitting at the table, the kids begin to laugh and joke it up with Peter, occasionaly taking a peek at his food. Finally Peter eats his food. Shorty after eating it he begins to trip out. The bell rings. Peter walks around school and begins experiencing violent hallucinations. Every one that walks by is doing so in super slow motion and their heads are all smileys.

It would be better if instead of the images scaring him they cause him great anger because they never change and he kills everyone that has a smiley face. pleads insanity and is in the nut house. Acid rarely make you scared of the things you see, at least for me, I feel peaceful, maybe feel that he has to scrifice a certain smiley to gain devine knowledge or something totally off the wall.

I'll wait till you're done with the idea but so far, there's nothing at all unique in this story. It's the same geek-goes-on-a-killing-spree (I am assuming Peter is the killer in the story).

Instead of being 165 lbs, I'd make the kid a lot heavier, especially if he actually is the killer. That way it seems more believable, and you can actually have some power kills, and maybe a few scenes where he has to drag a body.

But I agree with the X-Worm, the geek thing should really be altered. Maybe have him be a popularish kid who hits a downward spiral when he (as an offensive lineman, think Billy Bob, Varsity Blues) blows his knee out during the final play in the high school football playoffs thus stopping his team from getting the winning score. From this point on, most people hate him, especially all the old fuckers in town with nothing better to do than talk about high school football. His mentor could be a science teacher or something who hates sports, and gets info in the second act about his condition and tries to work a remedy.

By the time the acid drop hits him, he's ALMOST fully healed, but has a bit of a limp to him still. That way he can rush to some extent, but he has to use his smarts to corner, sneak up on, trap, or strategize against some of his victims that try to elude their untimely demise.
