The Aussie film industry finally showed it isn't over and done with yet as the critically praised local chiller WOLF CREEK head the way over the weekend with $1,223,679, earning it top honours. The launch was the 40th Best for the year, the Highest opening for an Aussie film this year, and the 8th Highest Opening weekend gross for an R rated film, coming in just behind the $1.25m of fellow Aussie feature Chopper (2000). With last weeks advance screenings intakes, the outback horror has earnt a neat $1,581,578 (US $18,185,217). Also getting a look in was Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst whose trip to ELIZABETHTOWN cost them $1,059,021 (US $12,176,780). For Bloom, this sits as his both his 8th Highest Grossing film and his 8th Highest Opening weekend, whilst for Dunst it is her 9th Highest Opening and her 11th Highest Grossing film to date in Australia. Period piece chick flick PRIDE & PREJUDICE had another soft decline this week, only losing 35% interest. After 3 weeks in release, Keira Knightley's romantic troubles have rounded up $4,901,417 (US $56,357,218). Though not as harsh a drop as it suffered in the US, actioner DOOM reliquished its top spot ever so with a 56% drop in its sophomore week. The videogame adaptation sits with $2,555,581 (US $29,384,448) after 2 weeks. Proving to be more profitable down under, the deep sea sex appeal of INTO THE BLUE had another relatively soft decline this week, 37%, its 3rd in release. The Paul Walker/Jessica Alba outing has managed $2,524,964 (US $29,032,409). Most likely scoring points, and money, due to its cast, the long delayed thriller STAY managed an appearance in the Top 10, surfacing at #9. The Ewan McGregor lead flick pulled in an uneventful $200,969 (US $2,310,771). Before opening nationally this week, the criminally fun crime caper KISS KISS, BANG BANG had a round of Preview Screenings, earning it $75,909 (US $872,812). And finally seeing the redlight after 8 weeks in play, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD come to a stop this week, bringing a very healthy $10,164,600 (US $116,874,075) along with it.

THIS WEEK (November 10th): Jodie Foster has a case of in-fright entertainment; Marky Mark fronts the revenge bunch; We swallow a sexy documentary; and it's crime and comedy for Kilmer.
