http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=pulse for the link to the great trailer

Director: Kyoshi Kurosawa (Cure, Doppleganger)
Starring: Haruhiko Katô, Kumiko Aso

Plot: The movie follows two different stories in one town at the same time. The first story is about a group of friends, one of them killing himself recently. Then one of their friends disappears. They get scared and find out what is going on. The second story is about a man who recently bought his first computer. He logs on and gets a message saying "Would you like to meet a ghost?" He then gets directed to a weird site and doesn't touch the computer again. He goes to find out what's wrong and soon joins up with a female tech student. What they don't know is that more people are disappearing or killing themselves all over the city.

I have seen this movie already, and it's great. Very chilling at parts and having such a bleak look that Seven would look like a sunny day in Hawaii when compared to this. It comes out tomorrow officially and will widen in release as it continues throughout the weeks. Here is a list of where it's playing if you are interested.

The shot in the trailer of the plane going down was awesome. So awesome, in fact, that the trailer for the remake included it.

God, I imported the dvd for this almost THREE years ago, what's taken so long for this to come out in the US?

Anyway, it's a terrific horrorfilm. A slow burner and definitely bleak, but it really gets under your skin. There's one long shot featuring a water tower in the background (those who've seen it know the part I mean) which is just chilling.

One of the most effective single take trick shots i've ever seen. It's so seamless that the second the end credits began to roll on this movie I tore the DVD from my player and rushed over to a friend's house to show them this incredible scene. Stunning.

Oh...the movie? As good as this kind of thing gets. Full of a very effective creeping dread.

I'll wait for the American remake.
