Spider-Man 3 villain revealed!

Of all the threads here in Joblo.com, I'd thought this piece of news would've been posted here in the Spidey thread once it was revealed. Anyways, here it is...

Its been revealed that Thomas Haden Church will infact play The Sandman as confirmed by Mary Jane herself, Kirsten Dunst and the "offical Spider-Man movie website". But then, if Church is Sandman like Dunst said, it makes you wonder if we'll see Venom in Spider-Man 3 after all. If so, thats GREAT news for Spidey fans.

As for the costume itself, I'd say its the most faithful out of all villain costumes so far (then again, how unfaithful can you get when you've got a character who's only appeared in a green/black stripped shirt and brown trousers?) and Church seems to have bulked up some for the role.

I can't wait for the movie and I can't wait for how the sand effects will look on screen. It should be amazing ;) (pun intended.....sorry).

Raimi is such a great director, I can't wait for part 3 to come out. Church looks exactly like The Sandman. Hopefully it will focus on him and Harry (and not on Venom cause it will get too complicated). I think the special effects and fight scenes are gonna rock.

That's one half of Kirsten Dunst's scoop confirmed. Now we wait for Topher Grace's character to be revealed. Hopefully it's Electro and not Venom, save Venom for the next trilogy. Sandman, Electro and GG2/Hobgoblin would be a cool trio to cap off the first trilogy with.

I got shivers up my spine when I saw that pic. It is Sandman. This will be cool. A lot of people are saying that Sandman is a shit character to put on-screen, but I think with Raimi at the helm, he won't disappoint. Besides, THC is a great actor and with the cool VFX at Sam's disposal, this could work really well.

As for Topher, while I would love to see Venom brought to life in live-action, I agree that the story is too much to put on-screen with Sandman already there. But I would love to see Electro. He is not one of my favorite characters but imagine how cinematic a villain who controls electricity could be in a live-action movie.

Man, THC looks EXACTLY like fucking Flint Marko. Im awestricken, that shit is dead on.

I'm all for Venom, but as I've stated before, PLEASE don't go overboard with the tongue. It just won't work on screen.

That does look like the perfect sand man. I cant wait for this movie.

As for topher as venom, I'd love to see that in this movie, i dont want to wait another 3 or 4 years to see venom, i want to see him battle spidey now dammit. He will fight venom and sandman until the very end and then he'll fight GG2/hob goblin in a big huge epic battle, kind of like the battle of Peter Griffin VS. The Giant Chicken, well maybe not that epic, thats the best fight of all time.

And the GG2 of Hob Goblin thing, i'd rather it be hob goblin, it would just be cooler for some reason that i cant explain to see harry be the hob goblin, i just dont really want to see the green goblin again, maybe its because of that stupid ass costume.

lol I think I'm the ONLY person who liked the GG costume. I thought it was a practical, smart take on the character, and just loved him all around.

In the comics, Kingsley (hob goblin) is pretty much the same damn thing as GG only without the badass insanity angle. He fiddles with the serum, however, and makes it stronger, as well as Normans arsenal. So yeah, he's a stronger version of GG, but he's nowhere near as cool.

Harry was GG2 in the comics, and will be GG2 in the movie...hopefully...
