Green Day confirm film details

Green Day have denied reports that they will star in the movie adaptation of their album American Idiot.

Frontman Billy Joe Armstrong says even though the band will write the script and produce the film they will not make an appearance.

According to IOL.com he said: "I'm going to be involved in some of the writing and production for the movie, which will be like a mix of The Who's albums and films, Tommy and Quadrophenia.

"You won't see us appearing in starring roles because we're not actors. We will leave that to the professionals."

Why can't most singers take that attitude? I hope Britney, Jessica, Mariah, and Whitney are taking notes. It wouldn't hurt Paris Hilton to jot down a few things either (if she can write). Stick with what you know!! Green Day freakin' rocks!!

Wicked pumped for an American Idiot movie. I wouldn't care if Green Day was in it or not ig uess. Any other movie would be completly out of the question.

I pretty much lost any shred of respect with them when I saw them going on about how people sell out in the music biz in an interview once, and then having American Idiot being played on tons of commercials and trailers. Boulevard of Broken Dreams is another song of theirs used also.
