2001 Miami Hurricanes vs 2004 USC Trojans

You know, alot of people are hyping the Trojans up as if they are the greatest team to every play in College, but I gotta disagree. Their defense is suspect and I don't care how many top 25 teams they have, the PAC-10 is SOFT.

I'd even go with my Ohio State Bucks of 2002 over these USC teams. The Ken Dorsy Miami Teams had a far more dominant run that these USC squads, in my opinion.

I do agree that the USC defense is suspect, but I do believe that USC's offense this year is the best ever. But they're definitely not the best team ever.

Alot of sports analyist are sure acting like they are the best ever. I don't know, but I just find it hard to believe that they would be undefeated if they were in a confrence like the Big Ten or the SEC.

I kind of wish they'd play Miami - or even my boys, VT - a team with a great defense (or like you mentioned - the '01 Hurricanes). Just to see where that offense would go with a pretty good defense.

I laugh when I hear college football commentators getting aroused over USC's win streak.

Anyone who saw the kickoff game of 2004 knows damned good and well that Virginia Tech had USC beaten before that phantom offensive interference call.

As far as the theoretical fantasy matchup, it would largely depend on whether or not any key players for The U were at their parole hearings that day or not.

I liken the 2004-2005 Trojans over the 2001-2002 Hurricanes.

Leinart is shitloads better than Ken Dorsey, too.

haha, the Hurricanes teams under Larry Coker have actually been pretty well behaved compared to the Miami teams of old.

What's your reasoning behind saying that? Though Leinart maybe better, Dorsy could more than hold his weight in big time games. If you remember, he lost less than 3 games his whole career and he put up some pretty big numbers when he had to. As far as the game goes, I think those Miami teams have the edge because of defense. The 2001 Hurricanes defense was a monster, I think they held teams to like 13 points a game, and the Bucs like two deep that they played would give any quarterback nightmares. Fuck, it would be a hell of a game. You'd have, Ed Reed, Mike Rump, Ken Dorsy, Clinton Portis, Dan Morgan, Jermy Shocky, Mike Williams, Reggie Bush, Leinart and a bunch of other key names clashing
