As far as the poster goes, it's an oversized piece of paper with colors on it that form a picture of Belushi downing a bottle of Jack, I don't give two shits and/or a fuck about it.

I do not have the poster in question, but I do have one of Belushi giving a confused stare with the words "U.S. Senator Blutarsky" on the bottom, and it is good as well. If I understand these two correctly, what they are saying is that pretty much every minor out there who thinks he is a badass because he gets drunk with his buddies on the weekends, and every college freshman has this poster. Just because you saw the movie, just because you yell "Toga! Toga! Toga!" every chance you get, and just because you unoriginal douches have this poster, doesn't mean that you are Bluto Blutarsky. Wanna be a badass? Don't take a picture with you and your buddies flipping off the camera standing in front of this poster. Wanna be a badass? Yes, Almost Famous is a fantastic movie, and that line really worked for the scene and made Billy Crudup my idol, but you're not Billy Crudup, and guess what? You're not a golden god!

So, drink some coffee, take a few Advil, and go to bed, because when the pictures develope you're going to realize that you didn't get the chicks like Russell Hammond got...all you got was somone else feces smeared all over your face. Believe me, it ain't worth it. So, drop the whole badass thing, take down the poster (even though the movie is great) and move on.

Well, to be fair, it's not a poster of him snorting enough coke to kill an elephant.

Seriously - Belushi used to dump quarter pounds of cocaine on a table, put it into one big line, and challenge people to "race him" to the middle of the table. That's something a bit beyond drug addiction - more like suicide.

A good Belushi story is that he played football in highschool on the defensive line. Apparently Belushi was known for getting up to the line, looking at the offensive lineman across from him and saying "The next two sounds you hear will be your nose breaking then you falling to the ground."

Okay, I've read WIRED one too many times, but my point is - the guy was really cool, he just had seriuos problems. I don't think you should let posers ruin the image of Belushi for you, THC. There is much more to him than just a can of beer. His Joe Cocker impersonation is so spot-on that it's scary, and seeing him do backflips was like comedy gold for reasons I'll never be able to explain.

Hell yeah! And although I'm in love with Mya Rudolph, you're right about this show going through another hard time. The show has always had classic moments, but lately it's been rough. The John Heder show was unwatchable, and I've never said that about SNL in its entire history. Did you catch the 80s special, BTW? Very well done, although I didn't like the musical interludes - too contrived, and without cohesion.

That aside - I just want THC to expand a bit more on his hatred of this poster, or more so the souless people who own it. The man knows how to talk some trash, and I'm feeling pretty bad about this rant. We need to hear more story. If not for your rant and my own, this thread wouldn't have much direction - well, except for someguy who is playing either Statler or Waldorf; I haven't figured out which one yet. ;p
