I do not try to deny the fact that I am a huge fan of great modern cinema. I appreciate classics for what they are, and what they did, which is influence the way the movie industry is today, but I do feel that most are slightly overrated.

Nice list, but since this is a favorite list, I have to ask; could you explan how RfaD is your favorite? Itis depressing, and,....well, depressing.
That's probably exactly why. It has the power to depress you and make you feel miserable afterwards. Not many films have to ability to do that, and that's why this one is special.

Yup, Bub's got it. It's the one film that I can watch over and over and over again, and it's still just as powerful as it was the first time. I understand what your saying, but it's strange. I just love it.

It is an extremely gritty movie...but a fucking great one at that!
Nice to see it at the top of the pile!

Oh, I agree that it is a very powerful film - its just surprising to see it as someones favorite, simply because I usually viewed a favorite as something you could watch all the time. I dont know. Nevermind.

Since there are half a dozen threads with a similar topic (TOP 100 MOVIES) in this forum at the same time, we've decided to close them all in the hopes of letting other list topics through. We've also created ONE BIG THREAD for everyone to add their TOP 100 lists respectively. Thanks for understanding, thanks for not taking this personally and now feel free to cut & paste your TOP 100 MOVIE LIST into this new thread: http://www.joblo.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/003254.html
