Most of those are great, with the exception of a couple of overrated ones (Dark City)

While I think "Blade Runner" is overrated, there isn't a single film on your list that I've seen that rated less than a B- for me. Terrific list Puck!

No real objections here. ALMOST FAMOUS, THE GREAT ESCAPE, PATTON, THE WILD BUNCH, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, DELIVERANCE, THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI could've just as easily made it to my list: http://www.joblo.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/003242.html (excuse the shameless self-promotion here). I don't share the same enthusiasm you have for such films as THE SHINING (next to EYES WIDE SHUT, my least favorite Kubrick film), THE BREAKFAST CLUB, WALL STREET, GALLIPOLI, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, WHERE EAGLES DARE, GLADIATOR, THE ROCK (the only Michael Bay I could stomach). They're not bad films, just not great ones. SCARFACE is a guilty pleasure, at best. I prefer Howard Hawks' version with Paul Muni. FARGO has grown on me over the years. CITIZEN KANE, THE THIRD MAN, MALTESE FALCON, CASABLANCA are tremendous films that leave me cold. My biggest objection would probably be the inclusion of LORD OF THE RINGS, which I found boring.
