LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Will Ferrell and "Napoleon Dynamite" star Jon Heder might be lacing up for "Blades of Glory," a comedy set in the competitive world of ice skating

The DreamWorks film revolves around a pair of world-class men's figure skaters who are banned from the sport after their disgraceful brawl during the Winter Games in Salt Lake City. After three years of toiling in obscurity, they attempt to put aside their feud and exploit a loophole in the terms of their suspension, partnering to compete in the only category open to them -- pairs figure skating.

Serious talks are under way to have Ferrell and Heder star as the disgraced pair, with Will Arnett ("Arrested Development") and Amy Poehler ("Saturday Night Live") playing their rivals. Sources cautioned, however, that salary and scheduling concerns could sideline the prospective deal.

The pairing of Arnett and Poehler would mark the first time the husband-and-wife team will act together onscreen.

The film will be directed by commercials veterans Josh Gordon and Will Speck. Ben Stiller is on board as a producer through his Red Hour Films banner.

Ferrell currently is shooting an untitled NASCAR comedy for Columbia. He returns to theaters in February with the indie black comedy "Winter Passing."

Heder, who most recently appeared in DreamWorks' "Just Like Heaven," next will appear alongside Rob Schneider and David Spade in "The Benchwarmers," a sports comedy set for release in April.

I'm definetly going to see this when (if) it comes out. I'm not giving up on Ferrell yet. Plus, with Stiller producing, and Poehler/Arnett in it, Ferrell doesn't even need to be the main attraction. I just hope Heder's role isn't similar to Napoleon at all. If he does well here he could possibly make a new name for himself.

The fact that Amy Poehler and Will Arnett is enough for me... potential to be hilarious.

Looks like a good fun premise, as long as they give Heder a role that is seperate from ND.

Man is Will Ferrel just cranking out movie after movie or what? Sounds like he needs to slow down and be a little more selective.

Sounds very promising to me. I think the world of figure skating is ripe for some great satirical jabs. And with Napoleon Dynamite teaming with Will Farrell, it could be comic gold.
