What is exactly makes a film a 10/10?To me, it's the perfect film.I can't find one thing wrong with it and it ultimately brings me joy like no other film can.
It's a select few, but here are my 10/10's.
"Jaws"
"Goodfellas"
"The Wild Bunch"
"Annie Hall"
"The Silence of the Lambs"
"Raider's of the Lost Ark"
"The Third Man"
"E.T. The Extra Terrestrial"
"Apocalypse Now"
"Rear Window"
"Raging Bull"
What are your 10/10's?What qualifies them to be?

I have a firm belief that no film is perfect - in fact, that nothing is perfect, and as such, have never given a 10/10. Stupid, I know, but hey - look at the member name. I havent really given many 9/10`s either (12 tops) but with my way of thinking, an 8/10 is a damn, damn good film. So,there ya go.
A Clockwork Orange
Dirty Harry
Fight Club
The Godfather
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Raging Bull
Taxi Driver
The Searchers

I don't generally subscribe to "favourite lists" as one's appreciation of anything can change from year to year...
...but if hard pressed to go a top thirty film list as of NOW here's what I'd put; (and in NO particular order)...
BLOW OUT (DePalma)
THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA...QUEEN OF THE DESERT
THE HAUNTING (original)
VIDEODROME
GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS
THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY
SOME LIKE IT HOT
CRASH
DIRTY HARRY
THE EXORCIST
FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE
ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE
ONCE WERE WARRIORS
KING KONG (original)
DEEP RED
JAWS
THE FRENCH CONNECTION
THE TIME MACHINE (original)
THE COMMITMENTS
THE STRAIGHT STORY
DRESSED TO KILL
THE TOWERING INFERNO
CHARLIE'S ANGELS
GREGORY'S GIRL
THE VAMPIRE LOVERS
FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
BLADE RUNNER
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
AUDITION
ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA
ZOMBIE FLESHEATERS
...a bit of a random selection as I could go a top 100 and still not get everything in that I'd like to take to a desert island. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif

I have the same opinion about giving films a 10. I probably have the same amount of films rated a 10, or more. All of them I have rated a 10, have lived up to my expectations of a great film. I suppose I rate a film on emotion. I don't go into technicalities like rating a film by its acting, directing, etc, and then add all those individual ratings up and put them into an average which stands for the whole film. I'd prefer go by how the film made me feel, if it challenged me, or if it made me laugh etc. I do think about how the writing affected the film; how the acting affected it, and things like that. But I look at the overall film with those things in mind. Rating a film using that mode of thinking influences my opinions too, and is part of the reason why I disagree with many people on certain films. It is also the reason why I find it impossible to numerically put together a list of favorites or great films, because my ratings are all based on emotion and I don't get technical, but opinionated. That's my approach.
