Ok, for some time I've been tossing around this idea in my head. Maybe it's lame, maybe it's not, whatever it is, it's time to just spit it out and see what people think. So holler back with your opinion, be it good or bad.
Anyway, here is the synopsis:
Nancy Thompson was thought to have died almost 20 years ago in her sleep while performing group hypnosis with a group of children at a mental institution. Self inflicted trauma while in R.E.M. state was the official cause, despite the children who were present with her claiming it was the dreamstalker, Fred Kruger who killed her. Her file was closed. The remaining children were discharged, and the hospital denied any claims of a "Sleepstalker".
In reality, while near fatally injured, Nancy Thompson did infact survive Freddy's attempt to take her life, though even the children who witnessed that horrid event never even knew. Only Doctor Gordon knew the truth. He had everything arranged so that the world believed she was dead. This, Nancy thought, was the only way to insure Freddy never returns. She had hoped with his last defeat and her supposed death, the final chapter of Elm street had come to a close for good. She could never know how wrong she was.
Now in her 40's and going by the Last name Yates, she lives miles from springwood with her teenage daughter, a child she had with the late Doctor Gordon, who died of a fatal stroke years earlier. Though she is happy, she is still haunted by her experiences with Krueger, and often suffers insomnia. Her daughter, Heather, begins dating a young boy Jacob, who recently moved into the nieghborhood with his mother Alice. Alice and Nancy soon become friends and life seems good.
Meanwhile, back in Springwood, the nightmare of Fred Krueger seems to have ended at last, it has been several years since a teen has been murdered in their sleep, and the town decide's it's time to move on. They start by demolishing the Thompson house on Elm Street. But while the house is being destroyed, a worker happens across the glove of Freddy Krueger. It seems to enchant him. He keeps his discovery to himself and takes the glove home. While watching TV he falls asleep and is murdered by Krueger. A news report about the town Nancy lives in comes on TV. As the camera follows the reporter, Nancy is accidently caught on film. Krueger spots her and decides to pay her a visit.
Suddenly the children in Nancy's town begin to die in their sleep. It isn't until Nancy and Alice over hear Jacob and Heather describing to each other a man they had been dreaming about, that they realize Krueger is back. Nancy tells Alice about her experance only to learn that Alice was from Springwood and had faced Krueger too. The two team up and face off against Krueger, but lose thanks to the fact that the entire town is feeding Freddy with their fear, making him very powerful. If not for Jacob and Heather waking them in time, both would have died. The two parents breakdown and tell the children the truth about Krueger and their experiences with him.
Heather and Jacob, worried about thier mothers and thier own lives set out to defeat Freddy and soon learn that the only thing keeping Krueger earthbound is his glove, which is cursed with his evil essence. They, along with Nancy and Alice head back to Springwood to retrieve the glove, which is being held for evidence in the murder of the construction worker, and meet Freddy in battle one last time on Elm street. It is their that Krueger reveals that everything Nancy knew about her late husbands death was untrue. Doctor Gordon had told her he was going to Chicago for a conferance, in reality he had returned to Springwood to partake in a secret program at the institute involving Hypnosil. It was there Freddy found and murdered him. The institute afraid their secret would be blown, had his body sent to a hospitol miles away where he was pronounced dead of a massive stroke. This enrages Nancy and sets the stage for the final battle.

Ok, I'm still working on an ending, and the synopsis was rushed, but you get the general idea, so what do ya guy's think, would it make a good movie?
