Ridley Scott long wanted to make Tristan & Isolde since the late 1970s. Finally, this Ridley Scott's dream project was greenlighted by Fox and Franchise Pictures ; Ridley Scott also found Kevin Reynolds to direct it.

Based on Franchise Pictures' tracking record, I don't have high hope on this movie. Some music in the trailer doesn't work to me.

I still want to see it, because I'm glad to see that Ridley Scott's dream finally come true.

Eww. Kevin Reynolds.

Forever to be remembered (and not in a good way) for "classics" like Waterworld and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

And what's with the latest pop rock love ballad completely clashing with the trailer?

Saw a promo-featurette when renting KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, and it was quite lame and amateurish.

People complained about Orlando Bloom looking too young and wimpy for the lead in a historical epic; James Franco looks even worse here.

Judging by the trailer, this looks pretty bad.

Hey, I like Prince of Thieves a lot! :)

The pop rock love ballad does blow. Whoever went "you know, this would play really well to an Evanescence song" should be shot in the left testicle.

The only decent thing about the trailer, to me, is Rufus Sewell, who I think is a very smart casting choice for the character he's playing. I don't think James Franco is a bed decision either, but the chick playing Isolde doesn't seem up to par, and the whole movie itself seems...meh.

Such a shame... looks horrible. Too bad cause the actual legend would have made a great movie. I wish the director (forget his name) of Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet directed it. I always thought he would be perfect for a Tristan and Isolde movie. Oh well, Ill rent it but it does look pretty bad.

If this movie does indeed suck I am gonna feel bad for James Franco. That guy is a great actor that deserves to be in quality flicks.

I've read five different version of this book and saw three movies and a German opera of this story. I feel like I still need to watch it... for some weird reason... it's a like a Romeo and Juliet tale... a legend...

Prince of Thieves fan too, but this movie just isn't doing it for me.

"Before Romeo and Juliet..."

Yeah, and before Tristan Isolde, there were two other "star crossed lovers".

This goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. Now if that's not box office gold, I don't know what is.

Jim Carrey is Adam
Catherine Zeta Jones is Eve

and Athony Hopkins as the voice of God

I'd pay to see that.

That would absolutely rock! I'll write the script and get my friend to direct it, and we'll both smile and laugh at it from Heaven (or Hell, whichever! ) cuz we'll both be about three hundred when we finish it. Anyway, ARE YOU LISTENING, HOLLYWOOD? THIS GUY HAS GIVEN YOU A GREAT IDEA! USE IT! (with permission, of course!)
