Mine is coffee, JD and smokes.

Caffeine and energy drinks. My blood is carmel color and fizzes in the morning and orange at night.

Beyond writing this horror novel, I write procedures and document changes in workflow at my day job. Which one do you think I prefer?

Music and my old diary. If I'm running out of ideas, I just have to flick through my diary and find something funny someone said one day. Then I incorporate that and high quality dialogue ensues.

Pain and mysery are what seem to be my two big backups. Writing is a great outlet for both of these and it comes out pretty good sometimes.

It's a bit of a 2-faced situation. There is the inspiration giving you the idea and there is the transpiration needed to work the idea out in to a story.
I get some idea's when boozed, but I need to be sober and sharp to use those ideas when I want to create stories or drawings around them (also cause I draw like a turd when I'm drunk).
So a little acohol for the start and then lots of coffee and smokes during the development.

Anyway, I wanted to ask. Those of you who've answered stuff like "Energy drinks! Gotta keep writin'!" I wanted to know if screenwriting was their job, or if they did it professionally.

During the daytime, a pot of strong black coffee, and a (reasonably) good cigar.

In the evening, a glass (or few) of good red wine, amd a (reasonably) good cigar! :)

A bit of self belief, a prayer and a sign it's all going to be worth it.

My big problem is I just can't get down to writing a damn screenplay because I think it will suck and no one will pick it up. I get all these ideas and start convincing myself they blow or I've seen them somewhere before. Originality is such a hard concept to come across these days. :(

Cigarettes. Packs and packs of cigarettes.

Or weed, it helps me think my script is brillant. Too bad that wears off after a couple of hours.
