Saw this today. Better than I thought. Ryan Reynolds is the same thing as ever. But you know what, it works.

7/10.

The reviews have been better than I expected, since it looks awful. Is it really worth seeing in theaters, or is it more of a rental?

Well, I got in for free, so it was worth every penny. Seriously though, just rent it.

Looks horrible. Anything Ryan Reynolds touches turns to shit with the exception of Van Wilder. He ruined Blade 3.

Man, I hate Ryan Reynolds, his cocky, obnoxious performances really piss me off. And for some reason this movie looks hilarious. And I want to see it. What's going on??

I will see it if I don't have anything better to do. I think Ryan Reynolds is pretty funny.

The only part during the trailer where I laughed was when he sings "I Swear." Otherwise, looks completely, without a shadow of a doubt, dreadful.

Went to see this one last night, and thought it was fuckin hilarious! I couldn't believe how funny it was, for a movie rated only PG-13!

Reynolds is the fuckin man, he reminds me a lot of Jason Lee... Kinda the same humour and roles and trademark facial expressions and they sound a lot alike too! :p

Also gotta say that Anna Farris is a really funny fuckin chick! She's really under-rated, and after seein this and Waiting, I think her and Reynolds need to be in some more flicks together... Everything worked, even Chris Kline was damn good in his role as smart-assed player/asshole! :D

If you're a fan of movies like Waiting and Van Wilder, I HIGHLY recommend you check this one out, it's well worth the time and money spent! ;)

Me too. I thought he and Jessica Biel and Wesley Snipes all complimented eachother well.

It's official. I LOVE Amy Smart. She's so gorgeous and is a great actress too. I wish she would do better movies though. Not that I didn't like or enjoy this but it's definately not great. Ryan Reynolds was for the most part good. There were a few scenes where he was off. And I don't think he did a very good job in the opening scene. His performance in the first scene felt insincere somehow. Anna Farris's performance was all over the place. Sometimes she was very funny and other times she was grating. Overall, it was just funny enough to get by. Nothing great, just decent.

SPOILERS!

Not nearly as painful as I had anticipated, but not all that great either. A fairly mediocre movie that is really rental material. Not worth paying full price for this one. There are more than a few extremely funny moments. Unfortunately, there's an equal number of extremely lame or unfunny moments. It balances out. Like ilovemovies said, Faris is either hilarious or grating, but she's definitely both. I did like the movie more when it was trying to be funny. The romance stuff is so routine and predictable. And Smart's character is too one-dimensional. I never really cared if they ended up together. I never felt his longing for her. We know it exists because the movie constantly tells us it does, but we never feel it. What makes her so damn special? I still don't know. I don't think Smart is a good actress and she doesn't have much to work with here. I did like most of the scenes between Reynolds and his brother. But they overdo it. Same with Faris and all the slapstick comedy. Sometimes less is more. I didn't find the destruction of the Christmas display to be all that funny. Felt like overkill to me. So, while many scenes with Faris and the brother are hilarious, just as many are too much or overkill. But, overall, it was better and funnier than I expected, and sometimes that's all one can ask for.

6/10 (barely a 6; I think it's a rental at best)

it wasn't that bad, Reynolds, Kline and Faris give funny performances, and i agree with Madsen, I didn't buy anythuing into Amy Smart's character, i mean what made HER so damn special!?

Anna Faris kind of reminded me of an ex-girlfriend, especially when she would talk about AMy Smart.
