I certainly hope it's better than the first one, because let's be honest...without Depp's odd performance in the first one, it would have been the definition of a mediocre film. There's certaily a lot of potential there, and I think this could be better.

The film looks pretty decent but I'll have to reserve my judgement for the final trailer. Whatever the case though, every scene that Johnny Depp was in in that trailer already had me cracking up and smiling a little so if for nothing else, I can't wait to see Captain Jack again :D:D

LoL , i thought that was one of the line's from the trailer , only because i couldn't finish watching it , maybe it's because i didn't care for the quality , or maybe because it just didn't seem too interesting , entertaining , but i wouldn't care if i don't see it in theaters . More legolas , more Depp doing drunk , more Keira " domino " Knightley , ahhh , it looks all blah , but again , mildly entertaining at the least .


Hey if that underwear line Was in the film , then you may have my attention , at least it would add a little much needed adult cheek , that's mischievous for you non uk folk :D .


To be fair , when they decide to leave Sparrow behind , after saying they can't leave without him , had me chuckling , more stuff like that and it could be better than i think it will be .

It actually looks pretty good, my only real concern is that Depp's character was really great as a quasi-lead, but now they're making the films all about him. Even the tagline is "Captain Jack is Back". His character really worked in the first film because they played him off of everyone else. I could see him getting pretty annoying, especially by the time the third film rolls around.

It's the law of reoccurring supporting characters -- any person or character with a small role in the first film will get his/her face plastered all over the sequel, thus being less funny and more obnoxious.

Captain Jack was a great character, since he comprised elements of dashing leading man, scurvy scalawag, and buffoonish comic relief all in one role.

I'm really not positive about this.

Well, Johnny Depp is a extremely marketable star. While, Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly are eh. Johnny Depp can actually carry films with his performances, I mean just look at Once Upon A Time In Mexico. that and Pirates 1 were in the top 5 the same week, which is a impossible task. So, Johnny Depp, whatever if he can carry a film, or not, actually rolls the cash for his films. Also, He is a extremely flexible star, he cna really change himself around for performances. So, possibly, he will do something different for this sequel.

That's one reason why I'm looking forward to this. And as for the comment about Barbossa returning... Well, when a pirate dies, he goes down to Davey Jones' locker, and since Jones is a character in this, that seems to make sense to me.

The trailer looked very good. Looks like another sequel that won't suck. Though i have to say, Gore Verbinski said in a interview that he didn't want to make a sequel that was about Jack Sparrow because he was the most liked character and have Johnny Depp in every single scene...but from what I gathered from the trailer it seemed like that was what the movie is all about. Lets hope its not too much of a good thing.
