I've only seen her in ALMOST FAMOUS, FARGO, and WONDER BOYS. She was great in all three, however she did not deserve to win the Oscar for FARGO over Emily Watson in BREAKING THE WAVES, but that's just my opinion.

I would say I enjoyed her the most as Elaine Miller in ALMOST FAMOUS, maybe it was because I enjoyed the flick more than the other two.

Let me just say that Frances McDormand is one of my favorite actresses but I just can't stand Fargo. It's probably the most overrated movie of the 90's.The Coen's only flaw in their genius career other than The Hudsucker Proxy and Miller's Crossing which I have not seen. All their other movies rule.

2.Elaine Miller in Almost Famous
3.Abby in Blood Simple
4.Dot in Raising Arizona
5.Marge Gunderson in Fargo

I liked her in everything but that awful women-in-prison film, PARADISE ROAD.

Get back to me once you've seen Breaking the Waves, then see who really deserved to win that year.

I wasn't a fan of the movie. Watson's hysterics and Lars von Trier's hyperkinetic direction gave me a headache for days.
