Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx will play the leader of a US counter-terrorism unit in The Kingdom for Universal Pictures. The Kingdom, which begins filming next May, centres on the US government's response to a deadly bombing attack on US citizens working in the Middle East. The actor is approaching the end of filming on the big screen version of Miami Vice for the studio, under the meticulous direction of Michael Mann. Foxx is currently entertaining US audiences as a staff sergeant in Sam Mendes's Gulf War tale Jarhead, another Universal release.
