I'm getting tired of Evabanaelisense or however you spell her name. Studios, please stop playing her in trailers to comic book movies and romantic historical epics. Her music is starting to get tired and annoying. In fact, because of you guys, I hate the band now. They might have had talent, but whatever talent they might have had has been ignored by me and therefore I hate them and their music because of you guys. In fact, if their record sells start to decline, I wouldn't hesitate to bet that you guys played a huge part in it.

Well, actually Evernescence has NEVER had talent.
I don't have television, so I don't know if it's played on TV spots or not.

If you consider a band that plays the same four vocal notes over and over and over again in every single song, then nevermind, I guess they ARE a good band.

Otherwise, yeah, I'd understand your rant, and I'd hate Ever... even more.

Trip brings up an interesting point.

How many more f**king times do I have to hear that "Back off, I'll take you on!" song played for an action flick?!

Or "Boom, here comes the boom! Ready or not!"

Or "Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort!" (I dig Papa Roach,but...)

And then there is the all time favorite...

"Let my love open the door"

Every other f**king romantic comedy has this song in the trailer or somewhere in the movie.

Exactly how many f**king songs have been done since the invention of recorded music that they can't f**king pick another song?!

Every five out of ten songs written is about love OR uses the word in it's lyrics! F**K!

"Oh, but it's popular and people remember it!"

Stop bastardidizing these songs! Skip ahead to the next track on the album or change the f**king CD all together!
Shit!

I could not agree more man! Also in kid comedy movies that I sometimes have to endure they always play that ABC song, jeesh. I watch these movies and when I hear a pop song in the middle I feel embarrassed, I cringe and I also hate it when the people in the movie break out in song which does not happen too often but I hate it when it does (Running on Empty anyone?) Icky poo, just ick!
I am glad they semi retired that "Let the bodies hit the floor" song but I am sure it will rear it's ugly head yet again.

Gosh, golly-gee, I agree with you! It's just icky-poo hahaha :D Gee-wiz, Wally, I love your choice of words!
I hate it when people break out in song too, especially when it's to "BOND". Perfect example as in THE REPLACEMENTS which gets double-dose of dissention from me because they 'bonded through a song...' using I WILL SURVIVE no less! JESUS! Another fault was when I WILL SURVIVE is ever played in a movie. Used too much. I blame CHICKEN LITTLE for being the most recent culprit.

There are so many songs out there, why can't they get creative and stop playing ALL STAR and a dozen other retreaded songs in previews and movies themselves? I agree with this rant. I really do.

I can't even think of a movie trailer that uses Evanescence. Maybe Daredevil, but I can't remember.

They do. I absolutely love them. By the way, does anyone know when their next album comes out? I've heard rumors for March 2006, but they're just rumors. Also, I can't remember ever hearing a song of thiers in any trailer except maybe for Daredevil. Can someone name another trailer where one of their songs is used?

The trailer he's referring to is Tristan and Isolde. But I enjoyed it.

I also noticed the latest King Kong trailer using the Batman Begins soundtrack (same with V for vendetta)

The only songs of theirs I've heard are Bring Me to Life and My Immortal and I like both of them so I have to agree.

Music is too subjective to agree or disagree about. Personally, I think Evanescence/Pete Townshend/POD/Papa Roach isn't the problem. The studios are for using the same thing over and over again. And most of these musicians don't bother me in the least, but I agree that studios have lost any hint of originality lately in marketing their new products.

Aye, how many times has Smashmouth been used in films? There's at least two that I can think of.

And in TV commercials. That damn one with the kids singing and dancing to it and the Baha Men a.k.a. the One-Hit Wonders like so many "artists" are.

Evanescence actually used to be good pre-2001 when they hit big. Their album "Origin" is amazing but can not really be found unless you live in the likes of Arkansas or here about....

Their newer stuff "Fallen" to whatever the newest album (s) is called --Sucks!--Nuff' said. It's sell-out cheap bad music and most of the movie trailers they play it in front of are crappy movies to begin with!!! that new Isolde and Trisolde or whatever looks like crap (another Romeo and Juliette rip-off)--not saying it will be crap. I'm just saying it looks like it. I might give it a chance if reviews aren't that bad. Who knows.

I remember when every other movie in the 90s used The Cranberries' "Dreams" in their trailers and did it get old fast. But I thnk jeo4 is right, the studios don't have any originailty when it comes to trailers. If they're not using the same 5 songs over and over again, they're giving half the plot away.
