The people I hate (as of now)...

This was mentioned somewhere else on here, but I wanna add my two cents as well. The people who post on www.imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com) suck major ass. The only one I really go into is the board for Underworld: Evolution, but some of those people suck so hard I almost can't believe it. Some of them actually have nothing good to say about anyone there or about the upcoming movie. It makes me wonder what the hell they're doing there if all they're gonna do is complain about everything. It would be like me going to the Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan fansite and start bitching about them. I hate both of them, so I would really have no business there in the first place. It makes me wonder how much free time these people must have in order to just sit there and think up excuses to bitch about every little thing. Seriously, one of them actually said that another poster was restricting his right to free speech by telling him to shut up. The one who said "you're restricting my free speech" bullshit has also posted in other boards and again did nothing but have his head up his ass.

I have never posted on the imdb message boards because of the lack of organization and the sheer amount of hate. No one likes each other, they all seem to think their opinion is better than anyone else's, and even when they have the same opinion as someone else, they argue that how they present it is better.

This is why I like JoBlo. I don't feel it gets said enough. While it has its share of problems (nothing is perfect), I think it has the best group of movie lovers I have found on the net thus far. Rotten Tomatoes? Nah, still to mean-spirited. IMDB is the worst of all. While here at JoBlo, we may be smart asses...but we kid because we love damnit! Maybe if people decided that having discussions instead of flaming each other was cool, then those other places would be better. But really it doesn't affect me as long as I have my Blo...

When I was merely and infant schmoe I posted a rant on here about how much I hated the IMDb forums, some people yelled at me, I cried a little bit, but now I'm super and thus stronger. IMDb is such a huge website its impossible to moderate, nothing like JoBlo which feels almost like a family in a way.

I do love the IMDb posts that only read " This Post Was Deleted By The Administrator" and every other post in the thread is like that so you have no idea what people are talking about.

I've had some good discussions at IMDb or some 'positive' interactions, I guess if that doesn't sound too weird.

The site lacks moderation. You can have 1,000,000 posts about the same damn thing - 700,000 saying it sucked/kicked ass in a variety of ways, 250,000 saying the lead actor was hot, 200,000 saying it wasn't original, and then some assorted ones, including the ones that are condusive to a good discussion.

They have a message board for every friggin' movie on that site, so I just assume there will be lots of garbage.

I completely agree! The only reason I still post there is because the author of novelizations of a movie I'm in love with posts there and I enjoy hearing what he has to say. As for the others, some of them are okay (intelligent, tactful, dignified, etc...) but the majority of them suck. My lastest post there was about how people who have nothing good to say about anyone there or the movie being talked about should just leave or deal with it, not send hateful replies. I love JoBlo for the fact that I have never met anyone in person who is as obsessed with movies as I am, and that everyone here can intelligently debate a point without name-calling (most of the time ;)).

I tried posting a few times at imdb...not worth the effort. The majority there must be like 13 and they suck hard at trying to get something serious going. And I detest the layout

AICN Talkback... wow... I am not a member and visited that place last week and got so sucked into reading the nasty talkback, before I knew it an hour has passed by! I just couldnt stop reading..its like a training ground for worthless wanna be comedians to try out their act.

I started posting at flicktalk.. a revised site of a friend of mines who loves movies..he used to be a Dvd Review member..if ya wanna check it out; www.flicktalk.proboards80.com. Speaking of DvdReview, I signed up for that site and never posted..nobody likes to discuss movies there..its all about what the fuck everybody bought and thats about it...plus their layout blows.

Dvd Talk site is ok... but Joblo is about the best.

Ah, the horrible internet troll. That's what they are called, the ones that are so negative. They enjoy going into a thread and being negative for no real good reason, other than to just piss others off. IMDB is really just full of them, and they don't like to acknowledge and play upon it like other sites. They just continue having endless flame wars.

I see it starting to happen here from time to time. A few schmoes are simply trolling around the forums, some of them are even senior or super schmoes. I hope I don't see more than I have here, but if anyone does see trolling it should be reported.

Hopefully I'll be wrong in my thoughts of more trolls coming in.
