Nicole Kidman vs. Penelope Cruz: Battle Of The Cruise Girls

Kidman’s impressive resume includes MOULIN ROUGE, THE OTHERS, EYES WIDE SHUT, THE PORTRAIT OF A LADY, TO DIE FOR, BATMAN FOREVER, FAR & AWAY, BILLY BATHGATE, FLIRTING and DEAD CALM (in reverse chronological order).

Cruz’s American films have been mediocre at best: VANILLA SKY, BLOW and ALL THE PRETTY HORSES. I have admired some of her Spanish films, though: OPEN YOUR EYES, JAMON JAMON and BELLE EPOQUE.

Nicole can be an Ice Queen at times, but there’s more going on than meets the eye with her, whereas the bland, vacant Penelope is perfect for their man in common Tom Cruise.

I'll take "Nic" anyday over Ms. Cruz-Cruise.

Penelope Cruz is pretty much useless as an actress, and she is nothing spectacular to look at. IMHO, of course.

I'm going against the general concensus I prefer Ms Cruz. I LOVE dark haired women, can't really comment on her acting abilities as I've only seen Vanilla Sky...she was ok.

Nicole just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

I'll take Nic mainly based on her track record although not completely spectacular...but last year was a breakout year for her and she became a bonafide movie star. I couldn't really stomach Cruz's accent, though I know its hard to make that transition from Spanish to English...thats just the way she's gonna sound, but I was very impressed with her in Vanilla Sky a great movie, thought she was fantastic. As far as looks go Nicole has her by a mile...Penelope just doesn't do it for me.

Somehow she manages to be linked with practically every Co-Star she happens to be working with, thus resulting in a rather suspicious relationship break-up...Tom Cruise and Matt Damon being obvious examples!!!

Apparantly Sadie Frost is becoming increasingly worried as Jude Law is due to work with Penelope Cruz on an upcoming movie...

I hate to say it..but she has gained a rather slutty reputation!

You've got to admit...this is a tad suspicious...she does have a wee bit of a reputation when it comes to the blokes!

It isn't particularly this aspect of her personality I dislike...I just percieve her as being an underhand individual!

Just saw Abre Les Ojos a few days ago. Penelope Cruz is an amazingly attractive woman. Sure, she can't speak any english but she constantly rules in her spanish roles.

I have gained new respect for Nicole after Others and Moulin Rouge, but she IS an ice queen. She doesn't warm me up at all.

Probably. I for one thought it was a bad, bad, bad, bad movie. The acting of the 2 leads was horrible, the dialogues were lame and in case anyone was wondering, Italians don't go around singing opera and shouting "bella bambina" at every pretty(?) girl they see
