Pantasia is the translation of the manga that's already been made into an anime series. I read Blade of the Immortal for three years and it's excellent! Also collect mangas by Masamune Shirow(Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell)

Check out Full Metal Alchemist and Berserk mangas. FMA is COMPLETELY different from the series, and much more interesting. As for Berserk, the series is only the beginning of the saga. The really interesting stuff happens in the manga and I hope that they eventually continue it as an anime, although at this point it seems unlikely

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days. Basically a shojo set in shinji's little dream world (as seen in episode 26 of NGE), but with giant robots and Angels (Oh Shinji, and to think that Instrumentaliland would be Eva free. Oh well). I've read volumes I and II, and their uber-kickass, especially with Asuka being a non-bitch and Kensuke actually having a part (and Misato is alive!!!!!).

If you haven't, read 20th Century Boys. It's basically his masterpiece (at least until he tops it).
Speaking of which, I'm currently reading the US releases of Monster, keeping up with One Piece and Berserk, and switching between Hajime No Ippo (on Vol 50 something) and Koroshiya 1. I wanna read JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as soon as possible, also.

GantZ Volume 17.
Jeez fucking zeez. Just when I thought this series couldn't get any more fucked up, I get owned. I'm talking a dude fucking a woman that turns into an alien and asphixiates him with 12 breasts, an elephant coming out of a man's stomach and then sitting on him, deformed tentacle people and so much more.
How can something so insanely sick be so addictive?!

One Piece
The only manga that I'm up-to-date with. I get the raws and read em with a translation.
Black Cat
About time a new good 'Bounty hunter' Manga came out.
It also had a pretty good dub.
Buso Renkin
A much more 'realistic' manga about Alchemy.
D-Gray man
A really nice manga about demon slaying.

Seriously, the only really good anime series I've watched in the last year or so have been Black Cat and Count of Monte Cristo. I saw Black Cat subbed but I'm glad to hear the dub is solid. I didn't even know it was out yet. Guess I gotta be on the lookout

Highschool of the dead Vol. 1
"A mysterious, lethal disease is on the loose worldwide, resulting in a catastrophic death rate of humanity, and the increasing rise of attacks, caused by the living dead.
In Japan, several high school students and a school nurse have banded together to escape Fujimi High School shortly after it was attacked by zombies. The group now attempts to figure who or what was responsible for this plague, and in the meantime, attempt to survive the present apocalypse."
Interesting manga so far.

Bleach 1-19 (shonen): Good stuff! A bit slow in the beginning, but it really starts taking off after Ichigo gets deeper into Soul Society.
Blood Alone 1-2 (shojo, I guess): This is something I came across while looking for Blood: The Last Vampire, and I'm gald I bought it. It's about a vampire who lives with an author who serves as her guardian and friend. The vampire is trying to adjust to her new nocturnal life while someone is testing the strengths of some local elder vampires, one of whom looks no more than 12 (like the lead vampire), but is badass.
X/1999 1 (shojo): I wanted to get the rest but they so damn expensive!
Her Majesty's Dog 1-5 (shojo): Another expensive book, but one that I enjoy.
Inuyasha 1-5 (not sure): Well, after finding out that there's gonna be 50 of these suckers I've kinda lost my interest in it. But something major happens to one of my favorite characters much later on (for those who want to be spoiled, read chapter 374), so I may pick it up again sometime.
Ouran High School Host Club 1-9 (shojo): This is a just a fun, random series. I quite enjoy it.
Vampire Knight 1-2 (shojo): Yeah, I like sexy vampires, so sue me! I've actually read through volume 4, but the next volume gets released in the States this October. There is a plot, there is some heavy stuff, so it's not just generic shojo manga.
Trinity Blood 1-2 (shonen): Honestly, the tiny print of the text irritates me to some extent, but having only seen the last few episodes of the show this will tide me over until I can afford the DVDs. A pretty interesting and different read.
Fullmetal Alchemist 1 (shonen): A friend actually convinced me to buy this manga, so I got the first one (being that it's expensive as well) and want the rest. I like Ed (he tickles me), but Envy and Roy Mustang are the ones I really like.
Claymore 1-5 (shonen): I got this on another whim and I really like it so far. It's currently being animated now and from what I hear it's impressed quite a few people. What I really like is that even though it focuses on women, they're not helpless and in need of men to save them, nor are they (always) unapproachable bitches. They're kick-ass!
Hellsing 1-7 (seinen, I think): The first manga and anime I ever got. I don't regret it for a second. This series just kicks so many kinds of ass! It'll end with 10 volumes and volume 8's already out here, so I'm expecting a fantastic ending for this, Hirano-san!
Rurouni Kenshin 1-10 (shonen): I don't own these, but I borrowed them from a friend a while ago. I really like this one. Kenshin is adorable as the rurouni and badass as Battousai. Kaoru can be a bit annoying at times (so can Sanoske), but I can overlook that.
Return to the Labyrinth 1(not sure): An official continuation of the movie Labyrinth, this was actually kinda weird to me. I only read part of it since it was a gift for a friend, but I'm kind of interested to see how the whole thing plays out. There'll be three volumes in all, and volume 2 will be released in October.
I want to get Death Note, Blood: The Last Vampire, the Blood+ mangas when they're translated, Tenjho Tenge, Last Quarter when/if it gets translated, Battle Royale, Lady Snowblood, Millennium Snow, Basilisk, Black Cat, and Saiyuki.
Edit: I forgot I had Trigun Maximum 1. I actually stopped reading it a third of the way through when I realized it was a sequel to Trigun and I hasn't finished the original series.
And I read the two volumes for Wolf's Rain. If you liked the series at all, or just like a well-told story, avoid this manga at all costs. Trying to tell such a complicated story in two short volumes and change so much from the series (the books followed the show), including the ending was a stupid idea. Someone of talent needs to go back and rewrite the books so they actually make sense and are good.
I also forgot to add Berserk, Trigun, Elfen Lied, Excel Saga, Zombie Powder, and the Devil May Cry books to my wish list. :D

The best manga I've read (or am currently reading) are by far Berserk and Full Metal Alchemist. Berserk is just fantastic. It's amazing how the show, which I loved, really only scratched the surface of this world. Alchemist is similar. It's very complicated and hard to follow if I don't read for a couple weeks, but overall I enjoy it and any one who likes the show would get a kick out of the manga.
I also really enjoy Death Note, Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece. It's amazing how childish One Piece comes off, but it's really a ridiculously entertaining manga. All shonen work better as manga in my mind. Bleach is fallin off a bit but it's still readable, although I haven't put much effort into it lately and am a few volumes behind (read up to 280). Trigun is also great, but the show was so well done I didn't have the urge to continue with the manga. I was happy with how the show ended and wanted to leave it at that. I read a bit once in a while, and I do love it. I'll leave it at that... it'll take way too long to go through all my manga experience. I'm not sure if I should be proud of that...

I have read and am still reading Berserk as the new episodes come out. This manga is just way beyond any other manga you can experience. It's just HUGE in every way. A gripping and mind-blowing story of revenge, with amazing character development, furious and visceral battles, extreme violence and gore, and stunningly detailed drawing.
I'm also quite fond of Hokuto No Ken by Tetsuo Hara (own the 27 volumes).
The mangas I presently follow are Vagabond by Takehiko Inoué (another excellent manga about the life of Miyamoto Musashi, a samurai who was never defeated), Souten No Ken (the prequel to Hokuto No Ken), and Claymore.
I have also read Rurouni Kenshin, City Hunter, Get Backers, Gunnm, Dragon Ball.

I haven't read Naruto in ages. I used to love it, but like all Shonen, it just dragged and really didn't keep my interest. Damn shame.
I only keep up with Bleach (which is also pissing me off immensely) and Full Metal Alchemist. I need to get back into Berserk, which was my favorite, but I just lost track of it.

Naruto and Bleach...
I hear Bleach is getting into some epic territory. I haven't read in a while because it started to drag, become predictable, and quite frankly, suck. I stopped after Byakuya killed Zommari (aka The Pumpkin King). Is it worth getting back into?

Don't be so hard on it. The manga just degraded into constant filler-esque battles without plot or character development. Which doesn't suck, it just...
...sucks...
That's the problem with hueco mundo, then? Little plot. Even after zommari, you have two more captain v espada fights to wade through. Only then does the plot return. So I can assure you that the plot is back for now. Maybe temporary, maybe not.

yeah, that's why it completely turned me off. It's so poorly paced. One of the worst paced manga I've ever read. Even filler fights take way too long (Byakuya should've waxed Zommari in 10 pages). And everything in HM (up to where I read) was ridiculously formulaic, predictable, and/or illogical. I love Bleach... I love the world it's created, I love the mystery, I love the characters, I love theorizing about characters and origins, but Hueco Mundo was truly awful (at least through the Zommari fight).
