In a quiet week leading up to the mammoth film that is Kong, very little went on for the sole new releases, ROLL BOUNCE missing the Top 20 all together, but due to the lackluster new material, most of the Top 20 had strong holds, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE suffering the biggest tumble with a 58% drop. The enchanted sequel added a further $5,130,940 to its bank, which now has totalled $20,883,134 (US $240,117,365), certifying it so far as the #5 Highest Grossing film of the year and the 55th Highest of All-Time. Recently announced Golden Globe Nominee Keira Knightley managed to rise a spot into the Top 3 with her portrayal as DOMINO, as the gritty biopic only fell 20% over the weekend. After 2 weeks the Mickey Rourke accompanied actioner has managed $998,516 (US $11,481,084). Maintaining their positions from last week, and similarly seeing only small declines, THE BROTHERS GRIMM, THE CONSTANT GARDENER and PRIME made the most of the weekend, with respective drops of 12%, 22% and 23%. 3 weeks in and Matt and Heath have conjured $2,461,356 (US $28,301,035), after 4 weeks, Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz have collected $2,585,813 (US $29,732,060), and Uma and Meryl's therapy sessions have billed to $2,601,026 (US $29,906,981). It was certainly bad news for the BAD NEWS BEARS as they stumbled into 8th place with a miniscule $212,056 (US $2,438,251). Before they hit our screens in the coming weeks with their respective new vehicles Cheaper By The Dozen 2 and The Family Stone, Steve Martin and Claire Danes saw a 5% increase in their SHOP GIRL feature. After 3 weeks in release it has pulled in $433,733 (US $4,987,126). One of the big surprises for the week went to position 20, FOUR BROTHERS, which after declining a massive 82%, and then leaving the Top 20, rose 17% and climed back into the charts. The Mark Wahlberg lead revenge flick hasn't matched its US run though with a brief $1,153,905 (US $13,267,770) in 5 weeks.
