Kingdom of Heaven 8/10

Elizabethtown 8/10

I loved Kingdom of Heaven. I think it just came out at a bad time. These two movies made me a huge fan of Orlando Bloom. He is definately going to be around for a while.

DOOM!

Doom should have got a lot more popularity then it received, it was an outstanding video game adaption compared to all the other shit that's come out recently (like House of the Dead :-( ) It was a well written story with tons of action, decent acting, good gore and a good length as well. I have to say that it was sadly better than AVP and that is very sad. Plus Rosamund Pike is so hot!!!!! MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm!

Broken flowers is probably the most underrated movie i have ever seen this year. Same goes for Elizabethtown. I didn't see what everybody hated so much about the hitchikers guide to the galaxy and the island. Red eye was underrated. I'll think of more...

Yes! I'm not the only who liked this movie! As I've said before, I thought the movie was spectacular and thrilling! And the movie contains what is, IMO, the year's most exciting action sequence, when Jessica Biel's plane blows up from above her and burning debris is falling everywhere around her while she is parachuting down. Had me at the edge of my seat almost literally!

Kingdom of heaven

Weather Man / Lord of War

Movies i saw and loved but havent heard other people talking about them: Green Street Hooligan (easily one of the years best) and Revolver (Guy Richie, casino's, british gansters.... WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!)

just my 2 cents, anyone agree?

The 1st TFATF i think was somewhat ground breaking and when it first came out i was majorly impressed, xXx wasn't to bad (7/10) but it looks like his movies have gone downhill since then, i thought Stealth looked bad, and someone on these boards spoiled a huge part of the movie for me.... soooo i am un-decided on that as of now.

MotherFuckin PRIMER(9/10) for gods sake. Its my favourite film of 2005.

Hands down the most plausable time travel film ever made. Pure, uncut sci fi at its best. ranks alongside the likes of PI, CUBE and 2001.

Do yourselves a favour and se it.

The Devil's Rejects in my opinion was the best film of '05, yet it got no love at all. It was described as a disasterous film. Yet it wasn't. The acting, soundtrack, cinematography, dialogue, complexity of characters, and how Zombie described the characters was all done perfectly. Not to mention that the film didn't have a boring moment in the hour and forty-five minutes it was on. It was just glorious. Hell, Forsythe's performance was better than some of the Globe nominees.

My top five underrated movies of 2005, in no particular order:

Constantine: well-done flick with some interesting brain candy.
Unleashed: a rare gem of an action movie, with well-balanced drama and some great work by Bob Hoskins. One of my top ten of the year.
Land of the Dead: of all the zombie movies starting to make money at the box office, why does a film from the guy who started it all have to end up with a flop? Like the career of Paris Hilton, it's a true injustice.
Broken Flowers: though it got some critical love in the late summer, it looks like this one will get shut out at Oscar time. It's a shame, since this was a truly fascinating human journey with some great performances by great actors, Bill Murray and Jeffrey Wright in particular.
Jarhead: definitely an underrated movie, probably because any movie about a war where not much was accomplished or acheived may not make for great movie material. This movie came pretty darn close to make it interesting, thanks to some great acting, relatable characters and an excellent visual flair from Sam Mendes, who still hasn't lost his American Beauty touch.

Plus, I'll throw out an honorable mention to The Island (not a genius piece of work, but dumb fun in the right state of mind) and, for all the schomes hating on it, A History of Violence (I still don't know what was so laughable about it for some of you guys, but it's still one of my top ten for the year).

By the way, I'm finally back to posting after a lazy fall of just browsing through the forums, so let me just say good to be back and happy new year!
