"Quentin Tarantino says that this is the softest toliet paper he has ever wiped his ass with"
"Quentin Tarantino says come to Toledo, Ohio cause is it way cool."
"Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodrigeuz give it TWO THUMBS UP!"
If anyone has seen the previews for Wolf Creek, then they know what I am talking about.
Also, what the hell is up with that other movie Hostel or something?
"Quentin Tarantino presents..." shut the fuck up already

You leave Quentin Tarantino alone!!!!
Yes i know he comes up in a lot of adds and presents a lot of things these days but i dont mind because to me it at least gives me hope for a decent movie since Q.T says something positive or has something to do with it. The only movie he presented that let me down was hero 4/10 but other then that his quotes actually give me hope for the movie and i rather see quotes from him then roger ebert.

It is kind of annoying watching the man try to pull in potential moviegoers like you and I into the theater by using quotes from some of today's best writers and directors. But oh well, they gotta do what they gotta do.

First off, dude. You gotta tell me what toilet paper is good enough for QT's ass, cause i'll buy it! :)

I guess it's that time of the year again for this thread to pop its ugly head out. Misanthrope always has a few thoughts on this subject, but I haven't seen him around in a few months.

Hey, if Tarantino says the sandwich is the best, then you best belive that that sandwich will knock you on your ass after fucking your face right off of your skull.
I mean, that motherfucker is good.
Count on it.

Great rant, man. The guy's name attached to a movie used to mean something. Now he's such a corporate shill, he'll sing the praises of any flick as long as Harvey Weinstein is lubing his asshole. The two latest films I've seen him talk about are CLERKS 2 (in a video with Kevin Smith and Robert Rodriguez) and WOLF CREEK. Both distributed by The Weinstein Company, owned by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, formerly owners of Miramax (distributors of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Four Rooms, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Sin City and Inglorious Bastards). How bloody convenient! QT should really just stfu.

I don't care about this. Tarantino will forever be cool in my book for 3 reasons:
1) He's an awsome filmmaker and his work speaks for itself
2) he's a major film geek
and
3) He appeared on the tv series "ALIAS"

He also praised (or is presenting) OLDBOY, NIGHT WATCH, SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOSTEL, so I wouldn't say he only does it with Weinstein productions.

Is it only me, or did he come across as a major asshole in "The long take" in the Sin City: Extended Edition?

Hilarious, because it's true.

If Quentin Tarantino likes his pizza with anchovies, olives, jalepenos, extra cheese and no sauce, I'd rather have mine with sausage, onions, mushrooms, light cheese and extra sauce. Either way, I'll have a slice, since pizza is good regardless. That's my analogy for Wolf Creek.
I still have hope for Hostel even though it's trailer is kinda weak.

I don't have an opinion really on this subject, but I will just emntion something that I thought was hilarious when I first heard about it.
Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) and George A. Romero were in LA when QT came up to them and started basically brown nosing to Romero, following him and Pegg. Eventually, Romero turned around and told him to grow up. So hack or not, QT will got owned by George A. Romero. :D

QT is all right in my book, so I have no issues with him.
That being said - The title of this thread is the best board-related laugh I've had in quite a long time. I hear you loud and clear, partner!

"Alright, now everyone is talking about Subway and Quiznos, but not too many people have ever gone to Johnson Brothers' Subs and Eats. This here is where they make the quintessential sandwich. It's these two brothers from Poland, and they've spent their whole lives making sandwiches; their father made sandwiches, and his father made sandwiches. They are the best. Pretty much every sandwich I've made since the late 80s were heavily inspired by Johnson Brothers, becuase those are the sandwiches I like, and those are the sandwiches I want others to like. You know, you have these one sorts of sandwiches that everyone eats, but then you have Johnson Brothers -- these are really the subs to try, and now I'm bringing those subs to you. So, enjoy the sandwich!

Bwhahaha, funny write up. Just throw in a bunch of F bombs and I could totally see him saying this shit.
I also forgot there are a ton of QT dickriders on this site and would buy into anything and everything he says...thats okay with me I guess.
I like Tarantino too, but he is losing a lot of credibility with all this shit. I mean, he is kinda reminding me of the kid who cried wolf one too many times. He keeps on putting his name behind this shit ( and yes I do mean shit cause Wolf Creek sucked), then people will no longer value his opinion as much.
Glad a lot of people are getting a laugh out of this thread though.

I really don't care what he puts his name on. All I care about is that he continues to make great movies. And he hasn't let me down yet.

I saw Wolf Creek because I thought it looked good.
I want to see Hostel because it looks good.
If he said "Rumor Has It is the best movie of 2005!!!"...I'd probably not see it anyway.
QT's name on something doesn't change my anticipation for anything...
But man, I need to get my hands on one of those Johnson brothers subs...

The guy is loyal to the Brothers Weinstein, I'll hand him that. That being said, I really don't have a problem with him "schilling" for movies or film, as long as it is for films he passionately believes his endorsement will help sell. It's not like he's trying to sell Mazda 6's, he's doing it for the medium of film. I wish more directors would take a stand for projects they believe in (again, assuming QT is being altruistic and only doing this for the proper reasons). Anything that gets more quality films, whether American made or worldwide, into our cinemas is a GREAT thing, even if he needs to plaster his name all over to get it on 2000+ screens.

It was a big suprise to me. It was very "Audition"-esk in my opinion (I thought Wolf Creek was better though, Audition had a amazing climax, but got confusing after a while). But Wolf Creek took its sweet time making you feel for the characters, etc. And then, after a while the shit hit the fan. And after the *POSSIBLE SPOILERS* Head on a stick *END OF SPOILERS* scene, I had no idea who was safe and who wasn't. Plus the direction was great, the acting was impressive, and I just saw a movie that was semi "Teen Horror" with the whole party animals in peril, but this time, I didn't want any of them to die...
.....Thats just my two cents though.

Doesn't bother me too much, but situations like this at the store I work at do get on my nerves...
Idiot Customer: "Hey, do you have that new Quentin Tarantino movie?"
Me: "Oh, KILL BILL 2?"
Idiot Customer: "No, that martial arts one with Jet Li."
Me: "HERO?"
Idiot Customer: "Yeah, that's it!"
Me: "He didn't direct that one."
Idiot Customer: "But his name's on it!"

Q.T. is a great filmmaker but so is George Lucas and I don't hear any of you guys suckin' his #$%$. Q.T. is just another tool now and has lost all respect in my book. I'll decide to see his movies if they look good, have an interesting topic, or are getting positive reviews. He won't be getting any benefit of the doubt from now on. I'm sick of this corporate fag turning into another puppet. I just hope Peter Jackson stays true.

So QT is now a "corporate fag" (really nice word, eh?) because he puts his name on two films.....So maybe Sam Rami is a "corporate fag" now too...You know, the fact his name was put all over "The Grudge" and "Boogeyman"....Or is that somehow different? Maybe George A Romero is a tool too, since sometimes when a good movie comes out his name is plastered on that, and if your standards are true, then Peter Jackson is also a tool, because his positive reviews are put on movies that recieve them...
Am I right here?
