Sometime ago I began to think about this question that affects horror films and movies in general, now I'd like to hear some feedback on it.
"when does violence go to far in films, when does it pass the line of having meaning to it to pure disgust. When is it reasonable and when is it unessecary"
thoughts.

The only violence that crosses the line is real violence. Anything else is fair game. Feed babies into a meat grinder; I don't care as long as it's fiction.

^^ I think what he said is pretty much on point. However, there are times when violence becomes stupid and unnecessary in some movies. I say as long as the violence is used in an artistic way and not just something random to fill up time, then it's good for the movie.

Define reasonable violence? define unreasonable violence? it's an impossible question to answer, it's so subjective. However I do know of a board of ageing out of touch joy-killers called the MPAA, maybe they could give you the answers you're looking for;)
