Since I made stupidest movies titles, I figured why not make this too.
The best movie title in my opinion?

JAWS

It sounds strong, it's short, and it's to the point. The other names they were thinking of were so corny.

A Silence In The Deep
The Jaws Of Doom
The Jaws Of Death
A Stillness In The Water
etc...

The ones that immediately came to mind when I saw the thread title were:

Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Silence of the Lambs and
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But I can see some people have beaten me to it.

Others that have come to mind since are:

A Clockwork Orange - great title for a great film.
Kill Bill - short sweet and to the point
Pulp Fiction - maybe it's just because I love the movie
Back to the Future - Sounds like a paradox, kinda like the actual movie

For a film to have a good title, I think the title at least has to...

A) Have a good sound to it
B) Reflect upon the meaning or message of the film
C) A title that is original (maybe even unforgettable)
D) A title that can really pump up or energize the viewer (this may usually happen wih sequels).

These are some films with titles that I thought achieved some or at least one of these goals...

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith ; The Empire Strikes Back
Requiem for A Dream
Boogie Nights
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Jaws
Apocalypse Now
A Clockwork Orange
Full Metal Jacket

The list goes on...

Whether I like these films or not, they say what they are.

Love Story
The Birds
Teenwolf
101 Dalmations
Platoon
Kill Bill
The Muppet Movie
Ghandi
Pirates of the Caribbean

As opposed to Jerry Maguire, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or Mystic River.

Oldboy<--if you understand the cultural significance of the title, it actually partially gives away part of one of the major plot twists.

Memento<--this is a great movie that has a very straightforward, as well as appropriate title.

South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut<--I cant believe that the Paramount studio execs missed the obvious hidden meaning of this title.

Gross Point Blank<---I dont know why I like this title

A History Of Vilolence<--I love this title. It fits perfectly with the movie.

Oldboy is like another word for alumni in Jamaica, so I assumed<--(I know..very dangerous) that its Korean translation means the same.

I read somewhere that they did. Originally the title was supposed to be "South Park: All Hell Breaks Loose", but they were forced to change it. I kinda doubt that they would reject that title, and then knowingly approve one that could be considered by most to be even more offensive.
