Well, ths is the last day of 2005, what was the biggest pile of shit you sat through? For me, it would have to be a tie between Alone In The Dark, and Son Of The Mask.

Fantastic Four isn't too far behind though.

It's an absolute dead heat between Alone in the Dark and 9 Songs. Thankfully, I only rented them off of Netflix. Imagined the pain of having to pay to see it in a theater.

Haven't had the displeasure of seeing any of the pieces shit mentioned but some of them are on my Netflix queue. Especially ALONE IN THE DARK, for believe it or not, I have yet to see a Uwe Boll movie haha.

I want to know exactly what to shit talk about dammit!

Rated R

Same with me, I haven't seen a lot of garbage. The worst film I have seen...probably High Tension if you count it as a 2005 film as I would rate it 2/10. If you don't count that...well, I'd say either The Jacket or Hostage.

In all honesty, I was pleasantly surprised by Fantastic Four...it wasn't great, had some hokey dialogue but it knew what kind of film it was and didn't take itself too seriously. I had a fun time with it and would probably give it a 7/10.

Hide and Seek, followed closely by Fantastic Four...

I dont get all the fuss over Fantastic Four, It was no Batman Begins, but it was better than Daredevil. I enjoyed it a lot.

As for worst, even though I've only seen parts of The Dukes Of Hazzard, I see it being on my list.

I haven't seen any really bad films this year from what I can think of but if I had to say a title I'd say
WOLF CREEK- I am really getting pissed at this type of films, I'm finding them pointless, with the exception of saw and saw 2 because I really got into the stories, wolf creek doesn't work for me.

oh wait

MR AND MRS SMITH
I hate those 2 actors.

Alone in the Dark is certainly the worst movie of the year that I've seen.

Also pretty bad:

The Aristocrats
Lords of Dogtown

And the rest of my bottom 10:

The Devil's Rejects
High Tension
Corpse Bride
Chicken Little
The Fog
Transporter 2
Monster in Law

....while I was watching these, I felt like taking a pencil, sticking it up my nose, and banging my head on a table, just so I could stop suffering....

If Uwe Boll's name was on it, chances are it should be set on fire and subsequently doused with holy water.

I could'nt agree more with you on that one. Why do they let that f#cker keep making movies when they're complete and utter shit.

Well, I don't go to see movies that I don't think I'll like, so I really haven't seen many movies this year that I didn't like. There were only two, in fact: Mr. and Mrs. Smith and War of the Worlds. And of the two, I'd say Mr. and Mrs. Smith was a bit worse.

Hunter- The Reckoning
Far Cry
Postal (With Gary Coleman in the lead) LOL!
Fear Effect

How does this no talent fucker keep getting all of these movies?

5th worse: Elektra 2/10
4th worse: Alone in the Dark 1/10
3rd worse: The Cave 0.5/10
2nd worse: Son of the Mask 0/10

AND THE ABSOLUTE WORST MOVIE OF THE YEAR IS.....

http://images.killermovies.com/w/theweddingdate/gallery/poster.jpg

I'm gonna have to agree with Alone in the Dark 0.5/10 it's mind numbingly awful in almost every way, i say almost because there's that one really cool Matrix-like shot in the beginning when Slater shoots the bad guy through a big slab of ice.

Other horrible movies.......

Boogeyman-2/10
Fantastic Four-3/10
Doom-3/10
White Noise-1/10
The Cave-2/10
Cry Wolf-2/10
Wolf Creek-1/10
Batman Begins(ok not "horrible" per say,and it's much better then the last 2 sequels of the other Batman series, but for me it's a big dissapointment and extremely overrated)5/10
Hide & Seek-3/10
Amityville Horror-3/10

What sucks to me being such a huge horror fan is that the majority of the worst movies of the year that i watched were infact horror movies:(

Hide and Seek (2/10) was the worst movie I saw, followed by Fantastic Four (2/10), The Island (3/10) and Serenity (4/10). But as I've said before, I avoided movies like Alone in the Dark, The Dukes of Hazzard, Son of the Mask, Into the Blue, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Bewitched, Wolf Creek, etc, because life is just too short. ;)

Absolute worst of 2005: Toolbox Murders: By Tobe Hooper

This is followed so close behind it could almost be a tie:

Alone in the Dark

Honorable shit mentions go to:

White Noise
Hide and Seek

Also, I just saw The Cave and, suprisingly, it beat out Alone in the Dark for #3 on my bottom list. The first few scenes looked promising but it's a shit storm after that. Truly horrible.

The Cave: 0.5/10

Oh dear God! I had no idea that Shark Boy and Lava Girl was even directed by Rodriguez. I mean, I did think that it was a very bad ripoff of Spy Kids (even though I haven't seen both of the aforementioned films). God, what the hell was he thinking. I have so much respect for Rodriguez, especially after I read "Rebel Without a Crew' but goddamn....this is just pathetic.

The Bottom 10 2005

10: Dear Frankie (2/5)
(Shona Auerbach UK)
Dull, manipulative, family drama from debuting feature director Auerbach. It looks lovely but goes nowhere unexpected and does so slowly.

9: The Devil's Rejects (2/5)
(Rob Zombie USA)
Foul stuff from Zombie (and not in a good way). It's essentially a compilation of the bits he remembers from better horror films which attempts to cast the villains as the heroic characters you root for. Left me wanting a shower.

8: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2/5)
(Garth Jennings UK/USA)
How not to adapt a great book. Step 1: Miscast it utterly (MOS DEF?!) Step 2: Leave the setup for the jokes... cut the punchlines. Step 3: Introuduce a dull and pointless love story when you realise the book has little structure.

7: Robots (2/5)
(Chris Wedge USA)
Unremittingly tedious, juvenile and annoying. What clearly hasn't been learnt from Pixar is that you find a great story before embarking on a film.

6: Don't Move (2/5)
(Sergio Castellito Italy)
The adventures of our hero the multiple rapist. Morally puke inducing as well as being boring and poorly acted.

5: Somersault (2/5)
(Cate Shortland Australia)
Beautifully shot but boring and exploitative coming of age drama. It swept the board at Australia's film awards, making me wonder if it was in fact the only film of its year produced there.

4: Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith (1/5)
(George Lucas USA)
A painfully awful ending to the world's most overrated series of films. It appears to have been written and acted by the same computers that created the endless digital effects which render it like watching someone play a (shit) computer game.

3: Elizabethtown (1/5)
(Cameron Crowe USA)
Mind pulverisingly terrible on a level I simply didn't believe Cameron Crowe capable of. It's the unholy combination of an abysmal script and floundering actors and is so bad I'll never approach a new Cameron Crowe film in the same way again.

2: A Dirty Shame (1/5)
(John Waters USA)
Title as review. Saves me a job. That being the only positive thing to say about this crashingly dull, stupid and painfully mirth free 'comedy'

1: Festival (1/5)
(Annie Griffin UK)
http://www.screenselect.co.uk/images/products/2/44282-large.jpg
Shamefully poor. In fact so bad that it defies attempts to encompass it's dreadfulness in mere words. I'd say you should see for yourself but, really, you shouldn't, ever.
