Sport?...I dunno... I think so, though...
I decided to make this thread because, I, myself, have become quite the avid lifter over the past few months. I've found myself at the gym almost everyday since October, and now I'm thoroughly addicted to it. So this thread is for all the fellow schmoes addicted to working out...Whether it's cardio, strength-training, or jazzercise, this thread's for all of us. Discuss your results, tips, and stories.
Man I hope this works out...

I started lifting in high school at the age of 14, and have been doing it sparsely ever since. I think everyones body repairs differently, so what works for one person may not work for the next. I usually do alot of work for about 2 weeks straight with maybe a couple days off. Then I'll take like 3 or 4 days off before I hit the weights again. What I find after comming back from the break, is that I'm able to lift a high amount after a long rest. Some people say a rest of longer than 2 days is bad for you, but I think otherwise.
Highest I've gotten on the bench is 275, when I weighed 200 pounds.

Today's the first day I haven't lifted all week, and it's tough for me not to just jump in my vehicle and drive to the gym. I think I'm addicted to lifting.

Yeah, it can get addicting. It's a good habit, though.

Another day off today, and again I feel like shit. Mostly because I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I needed to rest - but the urge to pump the iron was still there, all day.

I need this thread.
I'm a sports fanatic. I will play or train at any sport no matter how good I am it because I love to be doing something.
But man I've got lazy. BIG TIME.
I need to get my ass back to the gym. It's just I can't drag myself there for the 1st time.
HELP??????

I bench press every other day. I'm up to 210.
Honestly.

I thought I was the shit when I got up to 275. And I'm not talking about maxing out at 275, I actually benched the weight about 3 reps.

I'm on about a 4 or 5 a day per week workout routine...It's helped me gain about 12 lbs. of mass so far... It goes something like this:
Monday - Chest, Triceps
Tuesday - Back, biceps
Wednesday - Legs
Thursday - Shoulders
Friday - Cardio
The cardio's kinda optional there, at the end...but you can never forget the most important muscle in your body.

I only lift weights when i absolutely have to... I do a lot of cardio (runs and sprints), and I work the bag every day for about two hours on a rough skin with bare knuckles. I train with my sparring instructors every tuesday, friday, and saturday...
Scorpio, if you enjoy sports as you say you do, and if you’re interested in getting back in shape (or not being lazy, as you put it), find a good MA school in England. England is full of em'... whether it be Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (which is what I do), boxing, Maui Thai (This as well), Jiu-jitsu, Judo, Val Tudo, or whatever... I guarantee that you’ll be in the best shape of your life within three months. Hands down.
Hope this helps.
I do strength training every night sunday through thursday, then take Friday and Saturday off...it's pretty light-weight stuff compared to you guys, I think, it's more to maintain muscle mass than to get huge or something.
Also, I'm going to start Ninjitsu lessons pretty soon...as soon as I turn 18 and it's legal for me to do so. That's more so I can tell people "Yeah, I know Ninjitsu...no big deal" than anything else.

Thanks for the advice man. I did Jiu-jitsu for 2 years. I loved it. And you're right about the gettng in shape through it. I had to stop though. I was out one night with the woman when some guy started abusing her and one thing led to another and I hurt the guy quite bad. Scary time in my life that, so I stopped straight away. I'm a little bit more sensible now so I've been considering going back. Although i really fancy Thai Kick boxing. Apparently it's hard as hell which would be good for me. I boxed for a little while to so i'm more than likely going to go back to that.
Anyway it's my 1st trip back to the gym tonight. Finally got my ass into gear.

I finally got started the next night. Been back a week now and I'm enjoying it to. Also my bro's wedding is in may in Rhodes. So I got to get in shape for that. If nothing else the wedding photo's should serve as inspiration enough.:(
