View Full Version : Who else hates "actors" that can't act?

Ki'esha Foxx

This is my very short list that I came up with off the top of my head:

Lindsay Lohan: boo hoo! She has an eating disorder! Why the fuck should I care?

Hilary Duff: Cheaper by the Dozen...need I say more?

Jessica Simpson: "Yes, I have an IQ of 169" Yeah...marshmallows (and that's an insult to the marshmallows!)

Paris Hilton: the only good thing about her acting is when she dies

Jessica Alba: decent in Dark Angel season 1, but nothing else

Johnny Knoxville: how does he earn his living? being a fucking idiot, and no, not acting like one

50 Cent: like his music, not his acting

Jennifer Aniston: GQ's Woman of the Year because she and Brad Split?! What in hell????!!!!

There's tons more out there (I just can't think of them right now), so feel free to add your own. And the list of crap begins!

Half those people CAN act. What kinda thread is this.

Mr-Blonde

People I'd agree can't act:

Paris Hilton
50 Cent

The rest can act-- you just probably don't care for their act.

Ki'esha Foxx

Lindsay Lohan: Life Size - liked it when I was younger, now it just seems like crap

Hilary Duff: Cheaper by the Dozen...again, need I say more? Along with that god-awful Lizzie McGuire series and movie

Jessica Simpson: her only claim to fame is being good to look at and drool over, not to be taken seriously "Is this chicken or fish? I know it's tuna but..."

Paris Hilton: claim to fame = her family's wealthy. Coming from a rich background does not mean you can act

Jessica Alba: I did like her in Dark Angel season 1, but after that I was not impressed

Johnny Knoxville: plain and simple idiot, just like Simpson

50 Cent: Get Rich or Die Tryin' was proof of that, although I do like his music

Jennifer Aniston: Derailed, Rumor Has It... her saving qualities were being on Friends and being Brad's wife, not much else

A lot of people on my list I think just get movie roles because they're pretty, not because they can actually measure up to playing another character/person. Besides, if I'm wrong, please post some "actors" who can't act.

Lindsay Lohan is one of the better younger actors out there. In my opinion. Given the right material (Mean Girls), she can be gold.

agree wholeheartedly with this. i confess, i've seen more than one lindsay lohan movie (and that's other than Mean Girls (8/10) - in my defense, it happened generally due to circumstances ie: I was at someone's house for some kind of dinner and they happened to have FREAKY FRIDAY playing and another friend, she rented CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN to watch during her bday...ugh) and while none of them were particularly special or good, I always thought she definitely had charisma and acting ability.

I can't wait to see her in a proper drama (Altman's next) and see how she does with a fully dramatic role.

Other than that and Aniston (who I thought was very good in The Good Girl), I don't think any of the others are particularly good actors.

ETA: I'd say PAUL WALKER can't act though I could be proven wrong since he's been cast in the new Clint Eastwood movie. But of all the roles I've seen him in (FAST & THE FURIOUS, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, INTO THE BLUE, THE SKULLS, JOY RIDE) he's always come off as very very wooden, especially in INTO THE BLUE. Still, he wasn't bad in Joy Ride (good movie) but it's not like that took a lot of acting talent.

While I agree with most of the people on that list, whoever said people have to have acting talent to be in a movie. You mentioned 50 cent (I haven't seen his flick), he's only been in one movie, but does that mean Eminem can act - even though he's only been in one movie as well (the very good 8 Mile.

And all Jessica Simpson, Hillary Duff, and (lately) Lindsay Lohan need is their faces on a magazine to be able to get into a movie.

But it still baffles me how Paris Hilton has gotten into the business. Her claim to fame is a homemade porn video, her last name, and her reputation for being a dumb bitch.
Mind boggling.

It's all persepctive.
It's one person liking ketchup, another liking mustard. Not everyone likes both.

Me, for example? I think Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff could be interchanged in their movie roles and no one would give a shit.

Translation: B actresses at best. Their movies aren't exactly pulling in a shit load of money, are they?

But that's just me.

Jessica Simpson? Well, she's a singer that they handed a script.
This can either go well or...she unlike Lohan and Duff has only been in one movie. If they give her another chance in a more involved roll and not just eye candy, watch and see what she can do.

Paris Hilton? She's an attention grabbing whore that's should be pittied more than hated. If I had as much money as she did, YOU WOULD NEVER F*CKING SEE ME! I'd be enjoying my f*cking wealth with my friends and family and if you could get a picture of my sexy ass, good luck! (I'm not sexy, I'm just making a generalization)

Jessica Alba...

WARNING: If I went into talking about this woman on this topic, it would be a VERY long thread. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about her.

She's like a two ton Hoover Vacuum cleaner. Get the picture?

Johnny Knoxville? Just another "personality" they handed a script and said "HEY JOHNNY! WANT TO MAKE A MOVIE?" It's an easier paycheck to make than getting a bowling ball swung into your nuts.

(If you've seen the Jackass show on MTV, you understand.)

50 Cent? He's done his life story.
That'll be that. Will there be a sequel? More movie rolls for 50?
Don't cry, it's okay. He's done. He's gone back to hip hop.

And lastly Jennifer Anniston.
I like her acting. She's oversaturated lately because of the whole Brad Pitt thing and instead of going recluse, she's playing the Hollywood game and snagging the press to pump up her NEW MAN VInce Vaughn.

(Still can't believe that lucky bastard. )

To sum up, because I'm kinda rambling:

TO EACH HIS OWN

A lot of these emotions of disgust are not the fault of the stars.
It's the media. (YES, THE MEDIA)
Magazines, television, radio. When you see someone damn near all of the time you try to "entertain" yourself with this medium and you didn't really like someone before, NOW you hate them!

Of course, some of these stars just inspire disgust though.
You know who I'm talkin about.

There it is.
Peace be with you all, see you at the movies...well, not really, but...nevermind.

BEN AFFLECK CAN NOT ACT. SO DOES JULIA ROBERTS.

I think Alba CAN act, she isn't any meryl streep, but she can act....

I just think everyone is calling her a shitty actress because they think shes a bitch (which she might be, I dunno)....

.....And NO, im not saying all of that only because she is hot....I really think shes decent at acting.

.....What? You wanna fight? I once screamed "Socom 3 sucks"(even though it doesn't....I was stupid...*sigh*) in front of a entire football team, theres NO CROWD I haven't ran from....yeah.:D

If an actor/actress tries to improve themselves relentlessly, they have my admiration because we do all have to start someplace. But for people who don't bother to expand or even TRY to work past their beauty, that always pisses me off because they are just proving themselves a waste of space for real talent.

"Actors/Actresses" who are not currently striving to build themselves a real career:

Jessica Alba
Orlando Bloom
Paul Walker
Hilary Duff

Pardon me, I am rather tired at the moment, so I will cut my list short. But I still stick to the opinion that I stated above.

I like every person who has been mentioned (except for 50 Cent since I have not seen his movie, Ger Rich or Die Tryin', though I want to).

Hell, even Paris Hilton I felt gave a perfectly adequate performance in House of Wax. She's not in any danger of wining any awards and admittedly her role didn't require much from her, but she was ok for her role.

KEANU REEVES is one piece of wood that has never emoted.

He single handedly ruined Devil's Advocate for me.

I'm not sure what it is...his stoned look??mono-tone dialogue delivery?? body language???

He lacks a little in all departments and therefore, is a bad actor.

Although i should add that I can't imagine anyone else in the matrix series. I guess the role just seemed tailor made for him.

I don't really care for anyone on that list except for Jennifer Aniston. I really liked her in The Good Girl.

But there is an actress that I just can't stand. Everybody likes her but I've hated her in every movie she's been in. Her name is Diane Keaton. She's just an over-acting...I don't know what. Her horrible acting has rendered me speechless. I think her and Joe Mantegna were the worst things to happen to The Godfather series. I can't stand her over-acting ass!

Peace...

I also hate 'actors' that can't act.

The worst part is that 90% of them are young females who are chosen for parts based on their looks.

Jessica Alba cannot act.

Just want to say since someone mentioned him Orlando Bloom CAN act! Go watch Kingdom of Heaven and Elizabeth town, two of the most underrated movies of 2005.

The one that annoys me perhaps the most is BEYONCE KNOWLES.

SHE CANNOT ACT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP CASTING HER!!

Anyone who doesn't think Ben Affleck can act should see Changing Lanes. He's terrific in it. Without a doubt his best performance. He's also excellent in Bounce. Infact, I think he's one of the most underrated actors out there. He gets a lot flack that I don't think he deserves. Daredevil is one of my favorites too. Love it and he's great in it. Loved his performance in Dogma too. And Good Will Hunting. And Forces of Nature.

Oh and to the person who mentioned Keanu Reeves, watch The Gift. He's shockingly great in it. I mean he's actually pretty scary in that movie!

I'm not sure. I mean i was planning to watch it for Katie's tit-shot, but I'm pretty damn sure that I wouldn't watch it for Keanu's performance.

One of the most important aspects of acting is dialogue delivery, and Keanu sucks in that department BIGTIME! He has only one tone. If you were just listening to his dialogues without the visuals...you wouldn't know if he's happy or sad or angry...OH WAIT! even if you've got the visuals on...it wouldn't make a difference...cuz that's his 2nd point of weakness...the friggin expressions.

Keanus a bit one sded in his delivery, sure.

But, hey, hes an action star, for th emost part. And hes not near as bad as, say, Ahnold, or Van Damme.

He didn't SCARE me, but that is a role of which I saw a lot of spark, and I DESPISED what his character was, I honestly found myself thinking that the character was an absolute CUNT.

The Replacements
Devils Advocate
Bill and Ted

When Arnie was doing Commando he was meh. I agree he got much better with his Twins business and etc.

But come on, Van Damme? Stallone? Seagal? Lundren? I rank him higher than those schlubs.

PS and I liked Phantoms...

I think Schwarzenegger and Stallone are better actors than they usually get credit for. And I almost always enjoy Van Damme and Seagal.

As for if I think Reeves is better, I think he is better than Seagal and Van Damme, and about the same as Schwarzenegger and Stallone.

I disagree with two of Ki'esha's choices, but for the larger part, I agree completely.

Lindsey Lohan: See MEAN GIRLS. Given the right material, this girl can deliver the goods.

Jennifer Anniston: See THE GOOD GIRL. Also, see earlier seasons of "Friends". There is an actress in there somewhere.

Johnny Knoxville: Remains to be seen. He was okay as Luke Duke, and he was okay in WALKING TALL, but he was pretty much type cast. I'm holding judgement on him until I see more.

I agree with a few on the list and disagree with others. Lindsay Lohan is not a bad actress. And she's got a lot of charm when she's on screen.

Currently, on the top of my list of worst actors are Paul Walker and Jessica Alba. Honestly, I haven't seen anything out of either of them that impresses me. Particularly Paul Walker. Kevin Costner has managed to make a good career without a personality, Paul Walker will keep trying and fail miserably.

There have been actors in the past who weren't very good until they got the right role and their career and ability took off. Jamie Foxx is the perfect example. Bait, Booty Call, and The Great White Hype were forgettable as well as his performances. Then along came Ali, Collateral, and Ray. He showed with those that he is a serious diamond in the rough.

Actors have plenty of career to improve themselves. I hope many mentioned in this post do just that

So you like Daredevil. I think someone needs more edication on what is the good acting. The man is horrible. Melancholic, uninteresting, untalented nobody. Saving the Christmas, anyone?

While I won't go so far to say she's an abysmal actress, I have to say that Kirsten Dunst is my pet peeve.

Aside from Eternal Sunshine, where I maintain that everyone thinks she was good because, for a change, she was inoffensive. Aside from that, she just don't have it.

To each his own I say but most actors mentioned so far, in my opinion, can act. There are far worse actors out there then some listed within this thread. Take for example:

Denise Richards
Tara Reid
Ashton Kutcher
Steven Segal
Madonna
Tom Green
Cindy Crawford
Pamela Anderson
Britney Spears
Jessica Simpson
Paris Hilton
David Hasselhoff
Tori Spelling
Mariah Carey
Ashley Simpson
Carmen Electra
Prince (or what ever the hell he's changed his name to now)
Sofia Coppola (horrible actress but talented director)
Bo Derek
Pauly Shore
Fran Drescher
The Spice Girls (all 5 of them)
Baldwin Brothers (exception made for Alec Baldwin)
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Paul Walker (edit: how could I forget to add Mr. Walker)

These are bad actors!

I really think Paul Walker is starting to really improve as an actor. He really gives a pretty good performance in Eight Below and Running Scared looks great. And later this year he'll be in Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers. And Eastwood's movies always have good acting in them.
