Last nights Texas Usc game was unbelievable, and I'm sure it's on the list of many as one of the greatest games they've ever seen. So, put up the best games you've seen, and lets see where the Texas USC game stands up.

Give a little details for why you liked each game

1. Watterson vs DeSales, High School basketball 1998 - DeSales vs Watterson is one of the biggest rivalries in all of Ohio. They're two catholic schools that aren't too far away from each other. They have feeder grade schools that produce most of their students. Often, if you go to a Desales feeder school, you're most likely going to choose DeSales over Watterson. I went to grade school with the Watterson kids, but I ended up going to DeSales for high school. Playing in the freshman game of the evening should have been enough to make this one of the greatest experiences for me, but watching the Varsity game surpassed that. The varsity game was one of the greatest games I've ever seen. It was a really close game with guys giving it their all and incredible play after incredible play. I've never experienced something more thrilling than watching that game, ever. The build up of the game, the rivalry, the incredible amount of hustle each player put into the game and me seeing some of my old friends for the first time made this one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

2. Osu vs Miami, College Football fiesta bowl 2002 - - Incredible game. Critical play after critical play made this one of the most suspensful games ever. I live in a quiet suburban neighborhood and what I remember most about this game is that after Ohio State won, you could hear people from down the street yelling and celebrating.

3.Indiana vs Duke, College Basketball tournament 2002 - Wow, what an amazing game. Everyone expected Duke, one of the most powerfull names in sports and one of the most hated, to stomp all over Indiana. But after the opening tip you could feel that there was something special about to unfold. Indiana would just not give up in this game. They rebounded, dove on the floor, hustled like maniacs, and did just about everything to stay in this game. The game went on a seesaw throughout, and the most defining moment of it was when under 6 foot AJ Moyei blocked over 6'6 and powerfull Carlos Boozer.

4.Buster Douglas vs Mike Tyson, Heavyweight Championship match 1990 - - The 8th, 9th, and 10th rounds of this match are some of the greatest in boxing history. This was a david vs goliath matchup right here. Here you have a guy in Mike Tyson that was deemed unbeatable. Guys shivered just at the mention of his name. What Buster did that night in Tokyo was incredible. Watching these two guys trade blows after blows in this fight was breathtaking.

5. Boston vs New York, MLB ALCS 2003- I, along with other Red Sox fans, was holding my breath hoping that Boston would be able to pull the win off and finally reverse the "curse". Truely dramatic and heartbreaking game.

6.USC vs Texas, college football championship 2006 - You all saw it. Vince Young's performance was one of the greatest sports performances that I've ever seen. I'd put what he did along the likes of Jordan's 37 points with the flu, and Buster Douglas's performance against Mike Tyson.

7. Sacramento Kings vs Los Angeles Lakers Western confrence championships game 6, 2001 Great game between two giants. Styles make the matchup. And the kings passing and the Lakers combo of Shaq and Kobe made this series, and game great. Every game of this series was great, but this one was one of the better games.

8. Mohammed Ali vs George Foreman, Heavyweight Championship match, 1974- George like Mike Tyson was considered to be unbeatable. The guy came into the match with a 40-0 record with 37 ko's. Not too many people thought that George wouldn't be able to do some damage to Mohammed. The fight, held in Ziare, had an amazing atmosphere. The hairs on your body would stand up when you heard the chant of "Ali kill him" from the thousands of people there. Throughout the fight I was just waiting for George to land one of his knockout punches on Ali and end it. But Mohammed stood up to the punishment and fought back like a champ. The fight had so much inside play to it. The trash talking between the two, the rope a dope, and the fact that these where 2 of the greatest fighters in history at the height of their careers fighting against each other, made this one of the most memorable events.

I'll come up with the rest of my top 10 later.

I try to have one for each sport, but as much as I love Baseball, it's hard for me to make it just one. I have some favorites, mainly Tom Glavine throwing a one hit shutout to clinch the World Series, 1-0. The only run coming when David Justice, who had called out the Atlanta fans that day, went out and backed it up with a solo homer.

I will state these two as unequivocal bests, IMHO:

Football - 1981 (it was actually January of '82) AFC Playoff game between Miami and San Diego. There is an NFL's Greatest Games show devoted to it and it gives you the flavor. San Diego was running away with the game, ahead by three touchdowns in the first half, when Shula pulled David Woodley and brought in Don Strock (record setter from Virginia Tech  ) who promptly led an electrifying comeback to catch and pass the Chargers. The second half and overtime were epic struggles, an Ali-Frazier quality contest featuring multiple Hall of Famers (the original, and much superior, Kellen Winslow, Charlie Joiner, Dan Fouts) and some who merit serious consideration (like Nat Moore and Bob Kuchenberg) playing their guts out. It ended 41-38 San Diego and is, without the slightest doubt, the greatest football game I've ever seen.

Basketball - Duke/Kentucky 1992 Eastern Regional Final. Duke was the best team in college hoops that season, from day one all the way through. A stellar team, with Christian Laetner, Grant Hill, Bobby Hurley and coached by the best college coach of his generation, Mike Krzyzewski.

Kentucky was coming back to national prominence after being left on the shitheap by the corrupt Eddie Sutton. In a short space of time, Rick Pitino had righted their ship and had UK back where they belonged, right in the thick of things. I have never, ever seen a more evenly matched game played at such a high skill level. It was phenominal. I would have felt tension if I had had time. I was too busy marveling at the splendor oof it all.

When Duke had the ball with scant time remaining, trailing, all the way on the other end of the court, I swear I wasn't all that worried. I knew they would have a play set to get it into the frontcourt and I was confident they would get a shot off. Past that, I didn't know.

Laettner, as I'm sure you all know, caught Grant's terrific inbounds pass, dribbled (scaring the shit out of me) and then turned and sank his 10th FG of the night, complimenting his 10 FTs. He went 10-10 from the field and 10-10 from the line. It was everything sports can be: two great teams, each of which deserved to win.

In terms of college ball, it was on a few nights ago.

In the NFL, it's hard not to say that 92 wild card game where the Bills were losing 35-3, and they came back to beat the Oilers 41-38 in overtime. That's pretty amazing.

Saturday nights FA Cup football game between Luton Town and Liverpool at Kenilworth Road is climbing the charts. Luton 3-1 up for Liverpool to come back and win it 5-3 at full time!

Check out Xabi Alonso's second goal to make it 5 to The 'Pool if you can. A link is available from this site:

Yea I was going to mention that game. But as a Liverpool fan I can't get past the 1st Liverpool v's Newcastle 4-3 game. And of course the Champions League final last year. Did you hear about the guy who put a bet on Alonso scoring from his own half this season? He won himself quite a bit of money. How the hell do you make that bet?????

As for Boxing.

The greatest fight I ever saw was Nigel Benn v's Gerald Mclenan. Unfortunately the fight ended in tragedy when Mclenan suffered a blood clot and brain damage after the fight had finished. Apart from the tragedy it was the most intense exciting boxing match I have ever witnessed.

American Football.

Rams v's Titans from a few years back is my favourite game. The Rams were unstopable that year but I really wanted the Titans to take them. So close to, just 2 inches away.

Cricket.

Don't mind cricket but not a huge fan. However The Ashes were incredible last year. Some of the games were so close it was sporting theatre at it's best.

Probably the most recent one I can think of was a few years ago. It was the Monday Night Football game with the Colts and the defending champ Buccaneers.
I was rooting for the Colts but they were getting killed , losing by 21 with 4 minutes to go, and I was going to turn it off. I decded to keep it on though because I remembered how the Jets had come back from a huge deficit on MNF a few years before that. I didnt have much hope, but I decided to watch anyway.
And sure enough the Colts scored 2 tds, and I was yelling for my brother ( who had given up and gone to bed) to come out and watch the rest of the game, and the colts scored again. I was going nuts and just in total amazement when the Colts ended up winning the game. It was even more awesome, because I liked the Colts and HATED the Bucs with a passion back then. The camera crew had earlier caught Keyshawn talking crap about how the Colts receivers couldnt do anything, and then he just looked stupid hahahah.

That was one of the most exciting fun filled games I can ever remember watching.

another one was this past year in the world series game 2, when the Sox were losing and Paul Konerko hit a grand slam, then scott podsednick, who hadnt hit a homer at all in the reg season, hit one in the 9th to win it.

I remember that Colts game. Previous to that game, the Bucs D was dominating like it did the previous year. But after the Colts ripped them apart in a few minutes their d went down that year cause everyone just coppied what the Colts did to beat them.
