Just to let anyone know that wants to know, Borders is having a buy 3 dvds get the 4th free. Now I know a lot of you out there will be like, "Borders has high prices anyway, that's a shitty deal." Well you're right and you're wrong. If you look hard enough you can find some good deals there. Such as...
For only 20 bucks
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000244F2S.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
(The Asphalt Jungle/Gun Crazy/Murder My Sweet/Out of the Past/The Set-Up)
That counts as one so if you can find 2 others you'll get a free dvd, not a bad deal really. They have a lot of 10 dollar and 12 dollar movies on sale, as well as a bunch of Criterions. So to all you Criterion folks out there (Tayzlor, MacReady, etc) you might want to check it out.
Go check out online and a few other forums if you really care but you can find some good deals at Borders, and I swear to god I don't work at Borders so i apologize if I sound like I'm working on commission here. Just trying to help out the dvd-obsessed people like myself.

I checked the website. Apparently you have to pick up the item from the store itself. This is bad since there are no Borders here in Canada. Thanks anyway.

Wow, thanks for the notification Fknmetal.
The deal seems very fair.
I will most definately buy the Noir pack, I've been meaning to pick that up for a while, and now that's it's only 20 bucks, I must own it.
I might also get a criterion to boot.
EDIT: Just checked my stupid Borders and it only has Annie Hall from the Allen dvds (which I don't own) - I was hoping to pick up Radio Days, Sleeper and Manhattan. That's lame.

Despite the Criterions being at catalogue price, the other DVDs are cooly priced. It's just so annoying to keep the box sets in a giant island box only accessible by a key.. They also have a great selection of gay/lesbian titles, not that I'm open to a purchase, but a great selection that overlaps into the TV section and is not hidden by anything.
Anyways, this deal is worth taking advantage over.

They have a sale going on till January 30th on a bunch of dvds. I hate their website because all it says is the buy 3 get 1 free deal. Theres a few other box sets there for 20 bucks as well but I can't recall what they were.

SO LAME.
I went to BORDERS today to buy the NOIR set, no more sale.
The guy said they had it yesterday but not today, not anymore.
What friggin losers!
I don't have any luck with these dumbass stores, i.e Best Buy, Borders, and Target.
Uh...do you know what's up HeavyFknMetal?

The sale should still be going on, I was told it was until January 30th. If you have any other Borders around you, I'd suggest you check it out.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale, HFM. I'll check out my local Borders later today or tomorrow. I hope I'm able to find a few good DVDs, and purchase at least one Criterion.

Oh, thanks I will.
I don't know why though.
Their internet site did have the 20 sale price before yesterday but not yesterday. Don't know why, but I will check my farther Borders store.

I stopped at my local Borders last night, and this is what I purchased:
Bad Taste
Irreversible
The Producers
The Wicker Man
Unfortunately, I will have to return The Wicker Man, as it is the 88-minute American version, and not the 117-minute director's cut version I was hoping for. I'll exchange it for another DVD next week.
