Holy crap!!! i just watched donnie darko directors cut with richard kelly and kevin smith (who is my god hehehe) and i had know idea that my knowledge of the film was so small. did anyone else find this when they saw it? I mean the whole thing about tangent universes and everyone in it playing a part in the finale of donnie sacrificing his own life to save the world. any way i just thought i'd post about how stupidly awesome i think the movie is and how te commentry has made me think in a whole new way about the plot. any comments?

Yea, i pretty much understood it. I missed the first version in theatres, like most people, but when the director's cut hit theartes i drove 50 miles to go see it, and it was worth it.

Other than a few music complaints and Kelley making it easier for people to understand, I loved it on the big screen, and just have the Director's Cut more as a complimentry to the reg movie which i prefer.

Havnt heard the new commentary with Smith though.

I guess I need to check out that commentary.

The film is ace, though.

I wont watch the directors cut again, becuase of two reasons.

1) The changing of several songs throughout the movie. Mostly the change of The Killing Moon at the begining.

2) It explaned way too much.
