A heads up to any NC area schmoes-
The annual Nevermore Film Festival will be held at the Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC Feb 17-19
I've been four or five times now and it always proves to be a helluva lot of fun.
This year's lineup:
Mortuary (Tobe Hooper)
Headspace
Zombie Honeymoon
Within
The Great Yokai War (Takashi Miike)
Sigma
Shadow Dead Riot
Death Trance
Dark Remains
The Roost
It's the best (and only!) horror film festival I know of in North Carolina. Worth checking out if you're close.

I'm not sure my current plans yet. I'm flying out Sat. am so I could only make the Friday night shows if I can get off work early. There are no real parties afterwards but I'm sure you could find a crew to hang with. I'll bump this closer to the date and PM you with my plans. Possibility that a couple schmoes could be there...

PackBacker already knows this, but I might be there on Friday night. As far as parties go, I'm bringing the prostitutes and he's bringing the Twizzlers.

As long as you are bringing the prostitutes with you....Durham prostitutes are scary.
I should know tomorrow my schedule. I think I've already decided to at least go to the 9pm show if I can't get off for the early show.

I live about half an hour away from Durham and really wish I could go, but I have to work this Friday. Sucks. I can make it Saturday or Sunday though.

rvd- plenty of hotels around. Be careful staying in Durham, though. There are some parts that are....scary.
FYI- Great Yokai War was pulled from the schedule due to distribution problems.

I have tickets for all of the shows, except the last two on sunday.
This is my 1st film festival

I attented today and saw The Roost, Dark Remains and Headspace all 3 great flicks. I think Dark Remains wins the better of the 3, then headspace and then The Roost. Oh and Stephen King's Gotham Cafe was attatched to The Roost and it was..well...interesting...in a good way.
