This may have been asked before, but I couldn't find a post for it. Anyway, why is David Cronenberg not involved at all in the documentary on the supplemental disc to The Fly Collector's Edition?

Wouldn't be the first time a major studio shit-kicked the director (or other important people on the project) out of being involved with the new material.

Both of you may be right. My question was more to do with why that is? Was there bad blood between Cronenberg and the studio like a Fox vs. Fincher type thing, or something else maybe?

Didn't seem to be for me. He got what he wanted with The Fly as far as I knew...

What's even weirder is that he did a commentary for the same disc.

I heard somewhere that he did that for the laserdisc... Or is that source wrong?

I read some interview, I think it was IGN, where Cronenberg mentioned he didn't have time to do it.

Well, I checked around, and althought info on laserdiscs are rare to find on the internet, it doesn't look like he did one previously.

therealjohng's story is the best bet by my account.
