Ghostbusters is for kids and MIB has Will Smith, what else can I say ?

As much as I liked Men in Black, there is no contest. Ghostbusters is the better movie.

GHOSTBUSTERS is much better. It's far more funnier and it has very good action too. No contest. MEN IN BLACK is good, but not that good.

Like everyone else has said, Ghostbusters by far.

I love both films, but strangely I've begun to notice (to my great surprise) that MIB holds in repeated viewings much better than Ghostbusters. I don't know why that is, and I can't really decide a winner here, since their both brilliant in my eyes...But still, I've seen MIB maybe a few times more than Ghostbusters, and it still stays funny...I can't explain it.

Ghostbusters of course, MIB just plain sucked, it showed us all the good bits in the trailer

Ghostbusters is far better

Bill Murray kicks Will Smith's ass!

Well...this is not really changing any opinions...and not adding any new perspective on the board...Ghostbusters was fantastic. MIB was plain bad. No competition between the two.

That's a good question indeed...Well, let's break this down, shall me?

ACTING: Say what you will about Will Smith, the man does have comedic talent. And his chemistry with Tommy Lee Jones is absolutely perfect. However, that gets multiplied by two with the banter between the four Ghostbusters, so this one to goes to GB.

SPECIAL EFFECTS: I'm almost forced to award MIB on this one right on the spot, 'cause the effects are more advanced and more often than not blend right in with the live-action. However, Ghostbusters' effects has that 80s charm to it that I still go ga-ga over. MIB gets the nod, but just barely.

COMEDY: Ooh, this one's pretty tough. I still laugh my butt off during that scene Will gets tossed around like a rag doll by the pregnant alien. Plus what comes out of his mouth gathers ample laughs too. However, he is nothing compared to the old-school skillz of the one and only Bill Murray. GB wins.

I'd say Ghostbusters wins the battle. But I'd watch either one and enjoy them both just as much.

Ghostbusters, without a doubt.
An all time classic, never to be beaten by a Will Smith movie!
Christ...Will Smith?!
Please!
No contest!

Whist I did enjoy Men In Black alot, Ghostbusters is one great movie, while Men In Black is just good, so like most everyone else, I'm going with ghostbusters.

I think they're both two of the best comedies ever made... period. But I can't really decide which film is better.

Ghostbusters for me. I love the movie, always have. Bill Murray just fucking rocks, the guy is a comedic genius. I like MIB too, Tommy Lee Jones cracks me up. He just acts really funny in a weird way. My favorite part is when he's showing Will all the gadgets and shit. When he talks about that tiny bounce ball causing some catastrophe and turning out as a practical joke being played on the earth I always laugh out loud. That is my favorite part. "They thought it was funny as hell", LOL!

"What did you do, Ray?!"
"That's great! Actual physical contact!"
"I collect spores, molds, and fungus."
"He slimed me..."

My nod goes to Ghostbusters. I watched it on DVD recently, and I was reminded just what a classic movie it was. MIB is certainly funny, but I don't know if it approaches "classic" status like Ghostbusters.

I wonder if they'll make a Ghostbusters III? If it gets a good script, it'll make loads of money. Maybe more than MIB II.

Even the theme song to Ghostbusters is better!

And funnier!
