A board where folks can just chat about their lives and anything else that comes to mind and just shoot the breeze with one another. I think many people would love it. What do you say powers that be?

Basically, the Misc. Non-Movie Talk forum showed the true side of all of us :)

There was a lot of bickering, useless posts, flaming, etc. and even someone who posted a suicide note. The forum just got really out of hand and it got closed.

JoBlo would not open another forum like that most likely, and if he ever did it would probably have the most strict moderating on the board.

I think that sometimes it would be good to go back to having one, but then I remember the plethora of threads saying things like 'lol i ate sum toffee 2day n it was rlly rllly gooood :p:);)' and I am thankful for its disappearance.

Also, why not get approoved like in the politics forum?

It was around until maybe 2002 or so.

Using an approval system for it is pretty foolish since it's just essentially a chat forum. Politics has approvals since they want mature and constructive discussions, that's not needed for a Misc. forum.

Ha. If that were the case, you can count myself and many other folks out since I happen to have hardly any posts. LOL.

Anyway, sorry it did not work out. As I said, that was before my time and I would not have started this thread if I knew.

Thanks again for all the responses and I do hope maybe some day in the future, the Mods will consider giving it another shot.
