View Full Version : Danny Glover is a Pompous Jerk-Wad???
First off, this is not a rant, this is a question.
I was surfing around tonight, and came across some message boards bashing one of my favorite actors, Mr. Danny Glover. I figured they were mocking him for signing on to Leathal Weapon 4, growing a bad beard, whatever. Lo and behold thread after thread was talking about how much of a jerk Danny is, from making bad remarks about Ronald Reagan days after his death to numerous other statements that offended many. I'm not interested in arguing his politics, but no matter what your beliefs are there are respectful ways to get them across. From what I've been reading, Danny Glover makes Sean Penn and Bill O'Reilly look meek. Did I just miss the boat on this? Has anyone heard of all this?

I like Sean Penn and Bill O'Reilly. As for what you're talking about I have heard things about what hes said from time to time, but I don't really pay attention to them.

Personally, I've always found him to be a HORRIBLE actor, as in; painful to watch, and makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
So I suppose his social standing could only be congruent with his take on acting.

And the horrendous 'Gone Fishin'.
But, other than those, Mr. Glover is fine by me.

Amen. There's no law yet that you have to swear your allegiance to any president-- living or dead.

I'm pretty sure he started a giant fuss once because some cab driver didn't stop for him because 'he was black'.

If Danny Glover can't say what he wants to say, then it's like you're cutting off his dick and shoving it up his ass.

Whatever he said (or didn't), it only showes that you really shouldn't say anything bad about anybody in public. People won't like you for it.

And we all know that's never happened anywhere in America...

Never ever.
I dunno what strikes me about this, and I understand why people get irritated with the constant uproar. 'Smack my Bitch Up' means Prodigy hates women and condones domestic violence. At a local high school they had senior servitude day (auction off upperclassmen for a day for school funds to other students), accidentally a kid called it "senior slave day" and the NAACP shut down the event. Our society does ere on the side of hyper sensitive, but that doesn't change the fact that there IS racism, and in some places is very rampant.
It's easy to brush off this stuff because "everyone" has some problem. Alvy Singer "what would JEW like" syndrome. But I kind of feel like this might have been legit.

So Danny Glover doesn't like Ronald Reagan, and several days after his death, said so.
So fucking what?

Well, and we can say anything we want back to him when he behaves like an asshole and become a freaking Castro-loving SOB.
Still, he's a good actor. I wish he would be busy all the time making movies than going to Venezuela.

I actually had the pleasure of meeting Danny Glover at a political convention about a year ago. He is very passionate about a lot of political aspects, however, he seems genuinally concerned, which is rare in hollywood. Plus, he let me get my picture taken with him.:D
