Hey guys, I'm looking for some new music to listen to. Here's some bands I like are Led Zeppelin, Metallica, White Stripes, Nirvana, Guns 'N Roses, Skynyrd and Pearl Jam...based on these, are there any songs/singers/bands you guys would recommend to me?

Someone recommended it here before, and it's really useful. Helps you find other types of music you like.

Other than that, you might like Alice in Chains.

My favorite band, Clutch, is heavily influenced by Zeppelin, musically. Wonderful stoner rock sound, fantastic lyrics, driving vocals. Give Blast Tyrant a chance and Robot Hive Exodus, their newest albums.

You also might really like a band called Fireball Ministry which is also along the same lines...melodic Rock n Roll. And the Hellacopters are also great.

Along the Southern rock category, try Orange Goblin, Raging Slab, and Corrosion of Conformity. And of course, older ZZ top is a must. : D

Eagles of Death Metal.

Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age (check them out if you haven't) is their drummer. They're stuff is real good, plus it has a kind of Southern feel to it.

Working off of your love of the two premier grunge bands, Nirvana and Pearl Jam I would highly recommend that you check out The Screming Trees and Dinosaur Jr.

The two Screaming Trees albums I would recommend you get are Sweet Oblivion & Dust. Both are magnificent. Lead singer Mark Lanegan went on to release numerous solo albums and later worked with Queens Of The Stone Age. His solo albums are as good as anything he did with The Screaming Trees (and in some instances better). There's also a Screaming Trees Best Of called Ocean Of Confusion. But you would be better served just getting the two albums I mentioned above.

Dinosaur Jr were the unsung heroes of the grunge scene and I can pretty much recommend all of their albums. In particular though I would suggest that you get a hold of Where You Been. It's a timeless guitar rock masterpiece. Lead singer J Mascis has released various albums since the demise of Dinosaur Jr (although they did regroup recently for a reunion tour...so another album could be in the offing). Of his non-Dinosaur output I would recommend his two albums as J Mascis & The Fog. These are More Light and Freedom. The former is the best of the two by the narrowest margin but both are well worth checking out. Oh...and as with The Screaming Trees, Dinosaur Jr released a Best Of Compilation called Ear Bleeding Country.
