Avenged Sevenfold

Does anyone really like these guys? I first heard them when i saw the video for there song " Bat Country". After that i started downloading alot of their song and digging every one of them especcially if u wanna get a good taste check out "Sidewinder". I really like how they go hardcore (not like metal but you get my point) and then have a soft chorus. Kind of like the band Atreyu or "BYOB" by System of Down. anyone share my opinions on these guys?

Yet another person who discover A7X after they pussed out. And I don't mean by getting on the radio, etc. I mean they go from great metal vocals on "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" and "Waking the Fallen" and then they release "City of Evil". Which wouldn't be a bad CD, if it came from a different hard rock band who hadn't spent the past few years trying to make an image of a metal band... At least the drumming stayed half-way decent... I just wanna smash the radio everytime that song comes on instead of one of their great songs like "Chapter Four" or "Warmness on the Soul".
And the songs you mentioned are pretty far away from Atreyu... Unless you mean the one or two songs they play on MTV2...

I have songs from there previous cds and i think there all pretty kick ass but i can kind of see what your saying about the differences between the cds and with Atreyu i didnt mean they sounded the same i tried to say that in alot of Atreyus songs (Right Side of the Bed...Aint Love Grand..A Song for the Optimists) they have some hard music and then go into a soft chorus.

BTW..Chapter 4 really is a great song but i will have to check out "Warmness on the Soul"

I actually think he's a great vocalist, but I can't get into Avenged Sevenfold. Too many teenagers are going to assume that they invented a style of metal that combines heavy music with clean vocals. Oh my!

Well, he was decent but still not good on Waking The Fallen, but on City Of Evil, he's just horrible. I can't describe how much I hate his vocals on that album.

GOOD GOD! I hate this band! Im sorry, but Bat Country iis the single most annoying song ive ever heard. Every time it pops up on tv, i have to change the channel!

back in may, i was in a friends car and he had a leaked copy of city of evil. i didnt know avenged sevefold, but i liked wat i was hearing so i asked who they were and he told me. a couple days later i was in a different friends car, and he too was listening to this, although it was a diifferent part of the cd. i asked him, and he said it was avenged sevefold.
so wen the cd came out in june, i picked it up. and i fuckin loved it. i have probably heard that cd all the way through hundreds of times, and i still do. ever song has great guitar work smd the rev is an excellent drummer. and the vocals by m shadows are really melodic and good. i can see how sum people will dislike him, but i think it goes perfectly with the usic. the have a really big, epic hardcore sound.
since i loved ity of evil so much, i picked u pwaking the fallen, which i alos love. although i prefer city of evil.
seeing bat country on mtv and even trl was fuckin weird, because i didnt figure theyd be the type to be played on there. but hey, thyere gettin big, so good for them. im stil la huge fan and i luv the music.

"Seize The Day" is a great song, I don't care what anybody says. Sounds totally old school hair metal to me for some odd reason,a ballad atleast.

They're not 100% my type of band,i've tried to get into their stuff...some of it is okay,some of it just isn't my blend.

I don't mind them, I like Bat Country and Unholy Confessions a lot. Other than that I think they are pretty good. It's nice to see a heavy band getting some recognition among people nowadays.

They should dump their damn whiny lead singer and lose the Hot Topic personas; the name "Synyster Gates" makes me want to puke on his eyeliner-covered face.

When the new cd came out I ran out and bought the fucker. Put it in my cd player in my car, and then began to get pissed. I actually don't hate the cd as much as I did when I first heard it, but I was expecting something totally different when I put it in, and so it caught me off guard and made me angry. But I listen to it every now and again to mix things up a bit.

You also just described the new Rob Zombie album.:p Except for the listening to it every now and again... I just gave it to my girlfriend and the only time I hear it is when she plays it...
