My expectations were pretty damn low for the Sly tribute at the Grammys, but seriously, they hit rock bottom and dug deeper for this one. Robert Randolph was the only musician present worthy of playing with Sly (Stephen Tyler: "Come on, let's do it like we used to!" Was there some famous Sly Stone/Aerosmith collaboration that I'm not aware of?), Joe Perry's a good guitarist but a very different style of music. The "WTF? of the Evening" award goes to whoever that was from the Black Eyed Peas. Christ, knowing what a recluse Sly is, I'm very, very surprised he even bothered showing up, and not surprised at all that he walked off before the song was even over. He couldn't even sing very well, would've been better off just staying out of the whole thing and keeping from embarrassing himself. What a mess.
