As ya'll probably know there's more than one version of "Akira" on the market (at least where I live here in Canada). I'd prefer to not buy the most expensive version (Unless it's the best of course. In that case SELL me on it). That said, please advise me as to which version to buy.

yeah it depends,

this is the cheapest priced dvd you'll find of the movie on dvd, the only extra available is a capsule option which when you see a capsual on the screen, hit enter, and any japanese writing in the movie will be tanslated to english.

again it's about the same, with the new dts audio which I hear is good, english 2.0 sound

this is the best there is so far, 2 discs, 48 minute production report, trailers and etc. english 5.1, japanese 4.1.
it is the most expensive, I got the limited edition which is the same thing except the limited edition has a tin, metal chrom case and I only got it because it had a good price on it.

if you only want the movie then get the geone series dvd.

I have both the 2 Disc version and the Japanese DTS one. The DTS version has no extras, and of course, the only thing it has that the 2 Disc doesn't is the Japanese DTS feature.

If you are a fan of the film, go for the 2 Disc edition, it's worth it. If it's a blind buy or you only marginally like it, then the cheaper options are a better way to go.
