Thanks to Doc Ock of SuperHeroHype for the scans!!!

Here's scans of a interview of THC for SM3 in Starburst mag.

It confirms the villains as Sandman and Venom(Thank you Kirsten Dunst for spoiling it :( ) although Topher Grace only becomes a villain at the end of the movie. Funny how Church flames Dunst for spoiling the movie! :)

Well then, I guess this means they're making a 4th for sure, although it probably won't be Raimi. I like that better, because it means they are really going to give Brock his back story, insuring the integrity of the character. Nice thinking Raimi.

This movie is starting too look way better!

Now all that's left to ponder is how the symbiote will be introduced.

IGN's got a nice theory.

Sandman has a wife and daughter right?...How bout a cancer ridden little girl....whose salvation lies in the cancer fighting symbiote like in Ultimate Spiderman?

So basically (excuse me since im not too big on the spiderman comic)...THC is the bad guy. Sandman. And Topher is going to become venom...and that will set up the 4th movie?

Okay now that THC has said this, I now believe Topher will be playing Brock. But I like the idea that he won't become a villain until the end of the film. Big opportunity to introduce Eddie and his whole backstory and relationship to Peter.

I bet it will end just like the cartoon, where Eddie dons the symbiote and we catch a glimpse of Venom, before cutting to black and credits. If it ends like that, my anticipation meter will blow through the roof and I will need to be institutionilised because I can't wait for the next movie!

Unfortunately, raimi likes to end his movies with a sequence of Spiderman jumping around. I hated the end frame of the second one. I thought they should have cut to black when harry finds the GG armory, and it has that BEAUTIFUL frame of him standing in front of the glider. Wow, was that awesome.

But no, we are left with Kirsten dunts nasty taste in our mouth.

Yeah, I even think it was WRITTEN that way, SHOT that way, and then given the fake out treatment in editing for the cute ending. (I mean , just listen to the music. It was the perfect ending)

You know what, I hadn't thought of that..and your idea is actually very good. Instead of Spider-Man 2 ending all happy and stuff, we could've gotten this sudden grim ending of revenge. Very good thought indeed!

YES! And to the plot I have some theories:

In the comics, if I recall this correctly, Sandman's wife is killed by Doc Ock...and Sandman has a big fight with Venom in which Venom ends up biting and killing Flint Marko (Sandman).

Now, I know that there are a couple different orgins of the symbiote, my favorite being that John Jameson (Son of JJJ) brings it back with him on a space rock from outer space, and it latches onto Peter and he ends up rejecting it, to which it finds a new host on discraced reporter Eddie Brock. (This will probably be a sub-plot for Spiderman 3)

Now, the whole "John Jameson going to space" thing was already established in Spiderman 2, so it seems very probable that they will introduce the symbiote that way. Also, seeing that Doc Ock is dead, I think that either Harry or Venom will kill Flint's wife, (Who was just recently cast...Theresa Russell) And Harry will have some part in a "failed" experiment that turns Flint into Sandman.

Spiderman 3 will showcase Eddie Brock, NOT Venom. (Or at least until the end) Kind of like how the next Batman movie will showcase Harvey Dent, NOT Two-Face.

I think that the symbiote attaching to Peter will have dramatic effects on his personal life, such as his new found interest in Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) and damage his relationship with M.J. But he will eventually come around and choose M.J., and reject the symbiote, and the rest is in the bag.

With SO many new characters and sub-plots, this movie is going to be the most complicated and emotional Spiderman yet, which is why I can't wait to see it. Just my two cents...
