I don't know if this has been covered anywhere else but I read a script review for the Splinter Cell adaptation over at latinoreview.com.

Personally I don't mind it at all. There is one thing that I had always hoped would never be a plot point in an adaptation of this game. The plot point I feared was Sam's daughter, Sarah, being kidnapped by the bad guys. That, to me, is cliche and a weaker way to kickstart a movie.
Still I hope they do a good adaptation if this is the script they're working from.
